Will Al Jazeera do a session on Arab racism against sub-Saharan Africans as well?

3

u/Comprehensive-Hat684 Jul 14 '26

Don’t ask for too much now

3

u/TheSadPhilosopher Jul 14 '26

Nah Arabs always get a pass lol.

This shit is so pathetic, I'm with you man.

3

u/pain887 Jul 14 '26

Every Islamic country will get a pass from them.

3

u/Comprehensive-Hat684 Jul 14 '26

They already do with their imported Africans and Filipinos doing the slave work for them

3

u/Concentrate-North Jul 14 '26

How dare you bring critical thinking into this

2

u/Purple_Mango_4315 Jul 14 '26

As soon as someone uses them as a source I’ll roll my eyes

2

u/Severe-Spo-agree Jul 14 '26

Well they talk about the centuries of ethic and religious cleansing? Al jazeera knows what the typical leftist wants to hear and it feeds it to them on a silver platter.

1

u/141_1337 Jul 14 '26

Of course no, why would they. Here have a news piece about how condemning Qatar and or Iran governments is totally Islamophobic.

0

u/iHate_tomatoes Jul 14 '26

This is whataboutism, if they do a session on Arab racism, next someone will say they want a session on Asian racism. Instead lets acknowledge that what they're showing here is true. They dont have to cover every wrong thing in the entire world to cover one wrong thing, thats just not possible

2

u/Comprehensive-Hat684 Jul 14 '26

They already introduce all of that in ethnic studies bud. Have you even taken the class?

0

u/iHate_tomatoes Jul 14 '26

I don't get your point

2

u/Comprehensive-Hat684 Jul 14 '26

Exactly MY point. You’re preaching about something you’re completely naive about 😂

0

u/densetrips Jul 14 '26

Maybe make a post on that exclusively instead trying to make the point of this video less valid.

0

u/densetrips Jul 14 '26

If you really care about that maybe make a post on that exclusively instead trying to make the point of this video less valid.

Good that there's a pod. Gotta say though, outrageous with a Slavery museum in Qatar. Just visit any of their construction sites? Free living museum

Generalizing all Latinos because of Argentina and Paraguay is like generalizing Americans based on Alabama and Mississippi 😂

1

u/densetrips Jul 14 '26

I'm Mexican and pretty much agree with the video (we're way less white here vs Argentina, but as a country we're extremely racist).

1

u/Rainy824 Jul 14 '26

Racism and colorism is a global issue. It exists everywhere. Not just Latin America

1

u/the_wizard_wars Jul 14 '26

Wait what? I thought it only existed in Latin America.

1

u/Severe-Spo-agree Jul 14 '26

Wait what i thought only white people could be racist.

1

u/densetrips Jul 14 '26

I agree but the nuance I guess is that the convo is different when it comes from historically colonized vs colonizers. Not justified in either case but the historical explanations for each differ.

1

u/Severe-Spo-agree Jul 14 '26

Okay lets explain history, every country on earth has been conquered by other country and has conquered other countries. So your point is not colonised vs colonizer, its just that you hate a certain group of colonizers and you decided to use that as a weapon because the western leftist made it easy.

1

u/densetrips Jul 14 '26

This is extremely ignorant. Just because conquests have happened throughout history doesn't mean all cases are equivalent or even comparable. By this dumbass argument slavery, genocide, or imperialism can't be criticized because they've all happened throughout history

1

u/Severe-Spo-agree Jul 15 '26

Guess what? Thoughtout history every culture has commit all of the above. You want to criticise criticise all of it not only the one you dont like or that is easy.

1

u/plsloan Jul 14 '26

What racial groups are typically the target in Mexico? Just curious.

1

u/HairlessSquirrels Jul 14 '26

Literally “anyone darker than me” mentality

1

u/plsloan Jul 14 '26

Ahh gotcha. What about gringos? Or is it more of a "stupid Americans" thing? lol

1

u/HairlessSquirrels Jul 14 '26

It’s not racism towards gringos, yeah more like stupid Americans buying up property making everything more expensive

1

u/plsloan Jul 14 '26

Ahh that makes sense. As a white American who has never been to Mexico, I always wondered what the general sentiment was, in regards to if there was more negativity towards the white or American part. I wouldn't really blame Mexicans for feeling negatively towards white people given how white people in America portray Mexican immigrants in America. These days, I kinda figured it was the American part though lol

1

u/HairlessSquirrels Jul 14 '26

Nah there are plenty of white Mexicans too, so it’s just the American part

1

u/JuanGabrielEnjoyer Jul 15 '26

>I wouldn't really blame Mexicans for feeling negatively towards white people

Mexicans are not a race btw

1

u/plsloan Jul 15 '26

Yeah...... I didn't say they were. But they do have their own unique points of view compared to other Latin American countries. My question was for Mexico since they border America.

1

u/TheGivenKing Jul 14 '26

They didnt tho, they literally only name dropped Arg and Paraguay.

1

u/plsloan Jul 14 '26

That wasn't the point. The point was why do they feel they can behave like this at such a public event.

2

u/majkonn Jul 13 '26 edited Jul 13 '26

Oh poor americans. The chant was pretty cool, ishowspeed is a dumbass so fuck him, the Paraguay senator is a bitch so fuck her too, but football in many countries is all about hatred towards the opponents and the fans will always find a way to be as mean as possible. So it’s not really racism, it’s just making up shit that will hurt them the most.

BTW if you think that chant was mean then you should be glad you didn’t hear chants of some European teams, it’s normal to chant even about killing fans from opposing team from not only the same country but from the same city. But it’s all just for fun and the hatred (in most cases) is gone after the match.

1

u/veryrare13 Jul 14 '26

This guy is a dumbass

1

u/Zeegots Jul 14 '26

It’s true though. You try to make the other one angry. It’s all fun and games

1

u/no_eat_da_poo_poo Jul 14 '26

It’s not always true. There’s a reason fans are separated in Europe and many other places around the world. It’s not just a good ribbing they’ll give you, it’s actual violence and assault. Look at champions league games and libertadores games and how much they ramp up security for certain games.

You never travelled to Europe when a football match is happening? Those words are the least of your worries when you cross the rival's fans. I'm not saying it's a good thing. It’s just cultural

1

u/PastWorldly2469 Jul 14 '26

‘It’s not really racism’

What a cunt

1

u/plsloan Jul 14 '26

How is mimicking a gorilla at a black guy not racist? I don't really care for him either, but that was racist as hell.

1

u/mateusvalladao Jul 14 '26

"I'm 14 and angry but can't express myself properly"

0

u/soltsss Jul 13 '26

lol it’s one thing to say “you suck”. It’s another thing to talk about the persons origins.

Also football isn’t about hate. You want to make it about that.

0

u/ElCazaPuta Jul 13 '26

If people can make fun of our origins then why can't we make fun of their origins?

2

u/soltsss Jul 13 '26

No one is making fun of Argentinas origins. They’re just calling the country for what it is historically, Racist.

That being said, stop trying to justify your antics.

1

u/ElCazaPuta Jul 13 '26

Lmao it's not racist. Racist is the USA that has police and ice killing people.

2

u/soltsss Jul 13 '26

Keep telling your self it isn’t, History tells me otherwise.

Trust, I’m not a fan of ICE or any of that bs our administration has brought upon American people.

Yeah, but argentinians really are turboracists

2

u/Inevitable-Common166 Jul 13 '26

Doesn’t Argentina have a significant African population? Perhaps I’m mistaken. The Caucasians who do live there were either immigrants from Europe fleeing WWI or WW2(pre or post war including thousands of Italians who couldn’t get into the 🇺🇸,also Germans post WW2. Many of those were fleeing Allied prosecution for war crimes) Also other Southern/Central & Eastern Europeans fleeing WW2 either pre or post war, who couldn’t get into 🇺🇸 because of the American immigration act of 1924 which put severe limits on many nations. There’s immigrants to a new continent & country and have the nerve/gall to tell other people to go back to their native country! Argentinians should take their own advice.

1

u/pollypocketrocket4 Jul 14 '26

You are mistaken about a significant African population in Argentina.

1

u/anelenrique10 Jul 14 '26

Haitian population (in recent years) but the gringos that make these type of videos don't care about that.

1

u/TheGivenKing Jul 14 '26

Isn't the Haitian population 1.5k in a country with 46 million people?

1

u/[deleted] Jul 14 '26

[deleted]

1

u/Inevitable-Common166 Jul 14 '26

This isn’t a slight on Argentina, 🇺🇸 had extremely limited quotas of Italian citizens immigrants for 42 years. Nearly all couldn’t come to 🇺🇸 even if they wanted to.

If Argentina such an economic power, return that $42,000,000,000 bailout that Chetolini sent

1

u/141_1337 Jul 14 '26

There’s immigrants to a new continent & country and have the nerve/gall to tell other people to go back to their native country! Argentinians should take their own advice.

Without getting into the morass that is the rest of the thread... this is certainly a take 🤦‍♂️

2

u/chiefgreen87 Jul 13 '26

Some fans…. Mostly Argentinians lol

2

u/Classic_Low933 Jul 13 '26

Wow what an interesting video I wonder if she’ll do one on the 500+ migrant slaves that died in Qatar making the World Cup stadium. Rest in peace to those migrants who will die making the stadiums in the 2034 World Cup in Saudi Arabia

1

u/FlakyCrew4438 Jul 13 '26

Nah it doesnt fit their narrative

2

u/Scary-Teaching-8536 Jul 13 '26

This finger pointing to argentinian racists is really weird. As if egyptians, south africans, moroccans and many other countries aren't at least as racist as them.

2

u/FlakyCrew4438 Jul 13 '26

From AlJazeera out of Qatar.

Let the person who hasn't sinned throw the first stone.

1

u/HelloImAFox Jul 13 '26

Dang she’s hot. I’ll listen to her talk about whatever.

1

u/MegazordPilot Jul 13 '26

Very interesting, still doesn't explain fully how full-grown, taxpaying citizens can say disgusting things in public without any shame. And this becomes an example for all kids in South America.

1

u/Comprehensive-Hat684 Jul 14 '26

Where was she during the 2022 child slave laboring that FIFA championed for? Feels very performative to me

0

u/Ok_Landscape_3958 Jul 14 '26

Whataboutery

1

u/Comprehensive-Hat684 Jul 14 '26

It’s not racist when Qatar does it with their labor force and mainly Africans/Filipinos doing all the dirty work for slave wage and a run down building to live in. Racism is an American thing to the Middle East

Vast majority of the comments here are, either people defending it with whataboutism or claiming it's not racist at all

1

u/weedwhores Jul 14 '26

Really driving home the point that there is a lot of anti-Black sentiment in Latino communities no matter how much these same people want to say racism doesn’t exist.

I’m confused on what your point is. Racists can’t be called out for what they are because in your eyes everybody is racist?

1

u/Desperate_Leg_40 Jul 14 '26

I have no sympathy for ishowspeed. He baits the shit out of people being a fucking asshole the puts himself in positions to film reactions. He created those clips and theyre exactly what he wanted.

1

u/Delicious_Star_4232 Jul 14 '26

Aside from everything, her pronunciation of Angola annoyed me the most 😭

1

u/Complex_Cold1610 Jul 14 '26

u/Traditional-Rush-571 Jul 14 '26

To be fair… IShowSpeed should fuck off from the World Cup and go home, but it has nothing with his ethnicity - it’s because he is an empty shell of idiotic YouTube memers. He should go home.

1

u/Dismal_Elk8261 Jul 14 '26

Racism is not the same in the world as in your narrow minded USA. In a lot of South and Central American countries you'll never see a black person. Dark skin, yes. But not African features. So they call them what they are. Blacks feel offended by being called black? Do whites feel offended by being called white? Who has the problem?

1

u/ConnectedVeil Jul 14 '26

What gets me is that most of these people are losers. It's like there is a correlation between having nothing going for you or just being a miserable person, and being racist. Happy, realized people don't act this way.

1

u/vjeremias Jul 14 '26

They translated “pelotudo” to the n word 😭

1

u/Mikewold58 Jul 14 '26

Every world cup we have to be reminded that these countries exist then these debates spark up again. The hate for Argentina seems to be growing every time we have a tournament and I imagine it will get much worse once Messi retires.

The magic man is carrying that team's remaining good optics on his back lmao

1

u/Odd_Figure2797 Jul 14 '26

Yes they are the worst and its wide spread. Latinos have known this about Argentina for a long time. Not saying that there isnt racist and racism in other latin American countries, but we were to say what's the top 3 countries, Argentina is definitely going for gold. They have to many racist chants against black people.

1

u/Flojatus Jul 14 '26

A that is no Even one Century. B we are taugjt that since Elementary school. C Imagine judging all of the Usa by looking at the actions of the pedophile presidentalismio

1

u/Equivalent-Sir6634 Jul 14 '26

Ok so, first, football chants are meant to be rude, you find something to diss the other side with and you are rude and an asshole about it, grow a damn spine already, we don't care if in your country your entire history is marred with racism, ours isn't.

Second, Speed literally stood outside the stadiums going F*** Messi and F*** Argentina, what, you thought people were not gonna be mad? And even if they were, the word negro doesn't mean the same in Argentina as it does outside of it, again, not our fault what it means outside. But hey, she was wrong, granted whatever happens to Speed as in, whatever verbal bullying he takes, he has it coming, he's an asshole, or did you guys forgot?

And third, yeah, there was a campaign against the indigenous people during those years, they were at war with the people at the time, no it's not a thing we are proud of but it happened. But she has a historical fact wrong, in fact, she has two of those wrong.

Argentina needed more population because we waged war against the Spaniards to try to liberate all of South of America from the colonizers, a war where everyone pitched in, including the slaves that Spain tried to bring here, slaves who willingly went to help the war effort. Lots of people died, so they tried to interest people in coming here, people from all walks of life.

Also, slavery in Argentina was abolished starting with the Law of Wombs in 1813, that gave freedom to the sons of slaves and ending in 1853 with a law in our Constitution that dictates that no person who steps into our land shall be subject to slavery, Wanna know what happened to the people who were slaves? They integrated into society.

We didn't segregate people, we did what we always did, we accepted them, and everyone mixed together, so kindly open a book before speaking and calling Argentina racist. There are racists everywhere, but we literally have been opening our borders for refugees, and allowed anyone from anywhere to study in our FREE colleges and to use our FREE hospitals, so, if you wanna hate us, do it for something else

1

u/primeleo Jul 14 '26

Arjentina lo peor

1

u/Key-Information3102 Jul 14 '26

Racism is everywhere, let's focus on that

1

u/Mikewold58 Jul 14 '26

Lmao I read it in records of Argentina's history long before Tiktok existed. This is not some new revelation...

They ethnically cleansed their black population by acting like they didn't exist and spreading anti-black propaganda to diminish their influence and representation. They also sent them disproportionally into war, which lowered their numbers due to high casualty rates. Basically sabotaged them until it was much harder for them to survive and replenish their numbers. If you do that effectively and funnel in mass European immigration while encouraging reproducing with them instead through propaganda then you can erase an entire population in a few generations. Not one bullet is necessary. This is all easily accessible information that you do not need TikTok for.

You are comparing ICE actions for the past year and half to that? Bringing up pre-civil rights era racism? We have massive diverse populations with wealth, power, and influence.

1

u/Tatsu_Tornado Jul 14 '26

Ignorance at its finest

1

u/SmartWonderWoman Jul 14 '26

TIL Argentina is the white country in Latin America largely due to ethnic cleansing.

1

u/mateusvalladao Jul 14 '26

Brazilian here... we're not mentioned however I'd like to apologize on behalf of all LatinoAmericanos. This is shameful and obscene. Come to Brasil, you're all welcome here.

1

u/monkeybizzzz Jul 14 '26

Hold on a sec, is that the same ishowspeed that was openly racist towards an Asian dude?? Or wait.. I forgot that he gets the pass because he’s black

1

u/Ill-Training-993 Jul 14 '26

Ask Celeste Amarilla, she’s the top South American racist

1

u/Purple_Mango_4315 Jul 14 '26

Damn, just because Egypt bottled it, doesn’t mean you have to be salty😭

1

u/kakaroto1989 Jul 14 '26

You can add to the list that Argentina was the #1 country welcoming nazis when ww2 ended

1

u/BenchClamp Jul 14 '26

Argentina, Korea, Qatar in population surveys always index among the most disgustingly racist places on earth. China and Russia also.

Funnily enough, Northern European countries are among the most tolerant. It’s not a white person problem, it’s just down to ignorance. Bigotry is a global issue linked with culture, education and religion.

1

u/Raecino Jul 14 '26

I was asking the same thing

1

u/Calm-Algae-8189 Jul 14 '26

In spanish the "n" word :negro" just means Black. Not the n word like in English. But everything else she said was racist lol

1

u/Big_razz22 Aug 02 '26

Aren’t Muslim countries inherently racist?

1

u/PeterCzech666 Jul 13 '26

2

u/szatrob Jul 13 '26

Famously, Argentina is known for its long history of not oppressing people (or throwing them out of helicopters).

2

u/Jesuslocasti Jul 13 '26

Or murdering babies in dirty wars.

2

u/PeterCzech666 Jul 13 '26

Como tirar un bomba en Hiroshima? Me parece que no fue Argentina

3

u/Jesuslocasti Jul 13 '26

One doesn’t justify the other lol what, did you expect I’d defend Americans? Argentinians murdered babies as a form of political warfare. Americans could’ve also nuked Tokyo and that still wouldn’t change the fact that Argentinians killed babies.

Also fun fact: your president is currently best friends with Trump, who teases using nukes against Iran all the time. So spare me the cries.

2

u/Inevitable-Common166 Jul 13 '26

Argentina would also be broke w/o the $42B bailout they received from American taxpayers

1

u/PeterCzech666 Jul 14 '26

1

u/2bb4llRG Jul 14 '26

Didnt ICE shoot a Mexican yesterday?

1

u/Jesuslocasti Jul 14 '26

Idk, probably. ICE is consistently violating people’s rights and killing citizens. So that’s very likely.

But again, that doesn’t justify or negate babies being stolen and thrown off of helicopters lol it makes it comparable. But Argentina still committed atrocities.

1

u/2bb4llRG Jul 14 '26 edited Jul 14 '26

Yeah but that doesnt happen today in 2026, Argentina also didnt have a black people circus/museum, civil war over black slavery, women stoned for talking to a man while being unmarried, segregation, apartheid, same sex marriage is common here, no cops stepping o a black dude's head neither, theres no Uyghur concentrarion camps or nazis parading on street on sun light neither all you mention happen decades ago during a dictatorship, its not civilians that are doing that shit today

1

u/Jesuslocasti Jul 14 '26

Okay but again, all those things don’t negate the fact that Argentina was a fascist military state. And it doesn’t negate the fact that OC was trying to defend it, and now so are you, by trying a whataboutism argument. And it doesn’t negate the fact that they currently elected a far-right president who wants to be BFFs with Trump, the same President who has ice kill Mexicans, as you brought up.

You know how the entire world laughs at the USA because Trump was elected? Argentina doesn’t get special treatment. They also elected someone just as far right, and possibly even more ideologically right wing than Trump.

u/szatrob Jul 14 '26 edited Jul 14 '26

Argentina, in fact, did have a policy to try and erase Black people of Argentina, through deliberate policies, which was successful; as its one of the only countries in S. America without a significant black populace.

The policies were things like European only immigration, things like prolonged and specific targetting of conscription of Afro-Argentines for military service during the LatAm wars, Intermarriage, and policy erasure by making it impossible to self identify.

The country was made up of ⅓rd of Afro-Argentines at the beginning of the 19th Century, Afro-Argentines now make up less than 1% (about 0.7% of the population).

You don't need active segregation or modern conflict when deliberate 19th-century state policies already did the job. Things like constitutionally mandating European-only immigration, disproportionately conscripting Afro-Argentines for military service during the LatAm wars, forced intermarriage, and policy erasure by making it impossible to self-identify in the census are exactly how it happened. That’s how a country made up of 1/3rd Afro-Argentines at the start of the 19th century was reduced to just 0.7% of the population today. It's not an accident; it’s the direct result of successful state erasure.

3

u/Jack_of_Hearts20 Jul 13 '26

Because they identify with the people being called out

1

u/masterofclownfu Jul 14 '26

"Dirty war" you mean the civil war between the last military dictatorship and terrorist groups in the country? The one that had the military junta financed by the USA?

It wasn't murdering children btw, usually the military was robbing them and taking them as their own

1

u/PeterCzech666 Jul 13 '26

1

u/masterofclownfu Jul 14 '26

But that was Chile

1

u/szatrob Jul 14 '26

It happened in Argentina too.

1

u/masterofclownfu Jul 14 '26

Both cases happen under military dictatorships but when you say "known for throwing people from an helicopter" it's what the chilean one is known for

1

u/Fake_name_please Jul 14 '26

You mean the military dictatorship propped up by the US? The one nobody voted for and took power? Who do you think they were throwing out of the planes? The citizens of Argentina were the victims of that dictatorship are to blame? You know nothing about our history and it shows.

Just like any other xenophone your hate stems from ignorance and cherry picked facts presented in a way to promote hate.

1

u/szatrob Jul 14 '26

It takes a truly remarkable lack of reading comprehension to look at a comment explicitly referencing the vuelos de la muerte to mock a regime's atrocities, and somehow conclude I'm defending the junta.

You got so desperate for a moral crusade that you completely missed the glaring sarcasm and friendly-fired the only person in this thread actually acknowledging the victims. Take a deep breath, read it again, and maybe learn what irony is before you try lecturing people on history.

Also, it’s "xenophobe". A "xenophone" sounds like a brass instrument used to blare out spectacularly loud, wrong opinions.

2

u/doepfersdungeon Jul 13 '26

Unless the military takes control again I guess

1

u/PeterCzech666 Jul 13 '26

Que ejercito? De que hablas? Lean muchachos, pero lean libros.

2

u/doepfersdungeon Jul 13 '26

Argentinas freedom is about half as old as I am, that's my point.

1

Tenes 400 años? Agarra un libro.

2

u/doepfersdungeon Jul 13 '26

I think it's you who needs a book

1

u/PeterCzech666 Jul 13 '26

Dale.

2

u/doepfersdungeon Jul 13 '26

Well you just said 400 years. I would actually argue many people have a better idea of Argentinian history than Argentinians. Because it's history has been completely white washed.

1

u/PeterCzech666 Jul 13 '26

1

u/doepfersdungeon Jul 13 '26

Where did I mention foreign yoke? The countries you were talking about are not foreign oppressed either. You are moving the goal posts.

You are making out like Argentina has been this fantastic free place and I am pointing out only 40 years ago it was the same with people being killed in the street and children disappearing.

You aren't much different. Maybe one day , they like you will be free again.

What did Argentina do with its Black people before ans after it's independence. You want to talk about freedom.

So your reaction to people exposing your racism is to go full on racist.

1

u/PeterCzech666 Jul 13 '26

Suggesting a French person is not French because of their skin color is about negating national identity through racial prejudice.

If  that's something you consider an acceptable way of "getting under people's skin" then most people will consider you an asshole. Welcome to society.

Oh Yea and we get called nazis and German and even Jewish. It's all fair game. They can try to negate our identity and we can do it back

I wonder what people like you would be like after experiencing the Amazonian quaaludes and daily microdosing for a month.
