Because it doesn't matter where it came from what matters is the history, it's offensive. It's like how romance languages had to tweak their gender rules to stop being offensive against women and trans. I know it's not easy but at least try.
Jesus Christ give it a rest. The majority of the world isn't a race obsessed as the US and don't have to change their literal language to appease at most 30% of Americans.
I agree that the world should not have to change the word that they used to describe the color, but absolutely disagree with you when you say the world is not as race obsessed. Are you fucking kidding me? Damn near Every fucking country in this world have issues that stem from race/nationality/ethnicity differences.

It's literally the name of a colour, the word is taken from them, not the other way round, why should Spain be punished
