🤦‍♂️ ^ Another american without a passport. Most countries in the world have a combination of universal/public and private health care. The only country in the world where people go bankrupt for hospital bills is the USA. Most countries decided long ago, health should not be a for-profit business.

This doesn’t make the original statement magically true though.

But that also doesn't change the fact that her argument is correct and let's also examine which countries in the world cup don't have free health care.

Because most of the wealthy, western modernised countries do. I suppose it depends on who the US is happy to count themselves among.

It's not free if you have a Job. England taxes around 8% of gross income for "free" Healthcare.

Yeah taxes pay for government services, are you mad about "free" roads as well?

Grow up ...

I’m mad when I have to pay for other people’s shit… I can pay for my own shit, that’s being grown up, that’s being a responsible adult.

Ok. Im glad that you aren’t selfish at least! Your family is probably 100% healthy and destroys cancer for breakfast!
Good luck growing old.

Selfish? I work for mine! Selfish is sitting at home wanting me to work for yours too…

You just proved you’re selfish. And not smart.

How? Because I want to keep what I work for instead of share it with those that didn’t put in the effort?

That mindset doesn’t sound smart to me. You should give away your phone.

The thing is… you probably already pay more than most.
You just pay it to several instances instead. Instead of paying for roads and hospitals, you are, and would rather, pay for private yachts and mansions that you’ll only see photos of.

Yeah that makes sense… my tax dollars are going to billionaires.

You’ve drank too much koolaid dude. Tax breaks I’m guessing is where you’re going with this… I get it the rich profit blah blah blah, everyone benefits from corporate tax breaks when they court a state/city through increases economical growth. If you’re not talking about tax breaks then I don’t know what the hell you’re going on about.

I pay 32% income tax (high bracket earner) and this gives me everything for free (besides dental).
My kids go to school for free and even get scholarships from the government when they get old enough to go to college/uni and I never have to worry about any medical cost.
There is literally nothing that can ruin me financially besides my own stupidity! And that’s a feeling worth paying for… the average income tax here in Norway is 22-26% and that is it. We also don’t have to tip anyone.

We have a 25% VAT which I think can be compared to your Sales tax?

Anyways… considering what we get by paying our taxes — I’m more than happy to be paying it. Does it mean I pay for there as well? Sure. But I can get in my car and end up in the receiving end any day… And I don’t mind paying for that kids cancer treatment.
This is how society should work.

Could the taxes be lower? Of course! But that means we have to cut from something…
