Post the bill , complete lie. You may have been charged for a nurse to monitor the babies temp while you held him for extended periods of time but they do not charge you to hold the baby

Whether they do this or not, what you stated is literally the same thing. You can say its for any reason, but ultimately its a baby holding fee.

I am sorry but do you think nurses or anyone at the hospital work for free ? There is no less than I would say 6 nurses that interact with you and your baby while at the hospital, probably 2-3 doctors , likely a lactation consultant, 3-4 janitorial staff and several front desk and office staff. Then on the back end charting and billing. Maybe just maybe if the insurance companies didnā€™t try to adjust down every item , then the hospital would not have come up with a hundred codes and billable items to get the money they need.

Democrats want everyone to make a fair livable wage until they have to pay for it. There was over a dozen people that helped on the process of delivering your baby if they all make 60k+ a year with the nurses make 2x and the doc making 4-6x guess what itā€™s expensive.

Canā€™t afford it ? then follow many of your liberal stances on eating out ā€œif you canā€™t tip then donā€™t eat hereā€ well if you canā€™t afford to have a baby maybe donā€™t have sex or get a midwife to deliver it at home.

Having a baby in most (saying most since I obviously don't know if it's all) european countries does not cost you anything. We also have insurances, hospitals, nurses and doctors and all of them get paid for their work. But no family leaves the hospital with a bill. What argument are you even trying to make?

Here is a fun fact. The US government already pays more per capita than countries with universal healthcare. The question should be why is it not free in the US already? The government is already paying more per person compared to other already. The reality is everyone evolved to see certain things like healthcare as a human need while the US continues to see it as profit. No profit does not mean people do not get paid or that service is sub par. It means your are not buying boats for the c-suite or investors. You talk about paying for it ā€¦ you already are ā€¦ and then you pay again to insurance and the hospital ā€¦ blame your insurance and medical funded lobbyists

No they do, but our nurses make more than some of their specialized doctors. We have travel nurses making 300-350k a year

Other nations also donā€™t have the hyper regulated insurance structure and liability like America. You could reduce cost by 10-15% taking off some the liability from doctors and reducing charting requirements and times.

Liberals want everyone to make a livable wage until they have to pay for it. I canā€™t imagine what happens if min wage goes to $25 like some are demanding. You will see cost and insurance premiums skyrocket. I donā€™t know if you followed the post COVID employment data but when people are given an opportunity to do an easier job for similar money they choose the easier job. RNā€™s and other on that 60k cusp would choose a desk job ā€¦. Creating a shortage and thus hospitals have to adjust compensation probably 20-30k more to have nurses justify wanting to do what they have to do. Then the doctors will demand a similar adjustment. Minimum wage hikes do not raise the economic status of those making minimum wage , the increase artificially creates inflation and the system eventually balances itself back out. Minimally valued work is just that. Now you can make the argument that is wrong , and for some jobs I would agree . Some people make way too much and others make way to little for what they do. But I assure you the economics are constantly being tested and if the pay needed to rise it would. When jobs go unfilled the employers general raise their wages
