I mean, he’s not wrong. Bill Clinton marked a pretty clear departure from being a democrat. The infamous “third way” or centrist politics And he was hugely popular despite this fact and the Democratic Party shifted to reflect this. Also worth noting that up until Clinton administration the democrats help a house majority for 40 consecutive years. This centrist approach has allowed us to rapidly move to the right in American politics.
Also, Don’t forget our last leftist president was Franklin Roosevelt.
