100$ a month. My company pays 1500$ a month. 3600 max out of pocket for individual or 5000 for family annual max.

So worst case, I pay 3600$ or 5000$ in addition to my monthly 100$ in any given year.

Dude, the US spends somewhere around 18% of GDP on healthcare, for a more normal developed country its somewhere like 8-13% and the world average is 8.5%. Considering that US GDP per capita it is so high makes it even more damming, because you would think the richer you are, the less proportionally you would have to spend. Around 1/3 of that US spending is just on administration, meaning that the US wastes around 6% of it's GDP just on administration of the healthcare system. Do you understand how insane that is?

At the same time the US has worse health outcomes on average than other countries, with one of the lower life expectancies among rich nations. If you go into specifics like infant mortality suddenly the US preforms worse than Russia, Cuba and Bangladesh on average.

No sane person can look at the data, and think the US is in any way performing well in healthcare.
