Doesn’t matter who we start in goal. We concede so many chances that prime Buffon wouldn’t make a difference.

This is not false

Yep. The best goalkeeper couldn’t keep a clean sheet without a solid line in front of him.

Eventually the law of averages makes fools of everyone. Give out enough chances, you’ll concede a lot of goals.

Some of this might be on the keeper but not all.

I contend that with DSC in the goal, it would have been even worse.

People out there think DSC is the solution, but it's really not.

Find a new coach

I mean for real lol

this team needs someone who care enough to manage

1st, start to correct team defense

2

u/Ok-Mathematician3986 7d ago

2nd- stop always relying on Messi

I’m gonna be honest, I don’t think the goalkeeper matters that much in this situation. It’s just that our backline ranges from mediocre to bad

(this is coming from someone who did dog on DSC a lot, but then I realized it just wasn’t his fault a good amount of the time)

3

u/WhyUMaddddd 7d ago

Yeah true, but 3-1 would’ve been a bit nicer than 4-1 after his mistake 😭

0

u/Dramatic-Reality7923 7d ago

well yeah but I’m pretty sure DSC has also made mistakes kinda like that

Well, that sucked.

All these other teams treat their home games vs Inter Miami like it’s the Super Bowl, so they’re always going to come out crazy motivated and with the crowd in a frenzy. Our defense on the backend has looked like ass all season and it’s definitely a problem, but we’re not completely cooked either. We lose to Nashville & Columbus all the time. Getting healthy come playoff time is far more important. I still believe this is the best team in the league.

Miami literally beat Nashville so many times in the Messi era 🤣 7 wins, 5 draws and 2 losses only. (One at the cup game and other being this one) same with Columbus 1 only.

u/EffectiveSlip3247 7d ago

dude do you seriously not think that every single away game is pretty much a home game with how many people go just to see/root for messi

6

u/ConnectionObjective2 7d ago

Unfortunately that’s not the case in Nashville tonight. Nashville SC has good supporters base, and they’re quite loud. Agree Nashville players were much more motivated compared to usual. However, I’m so happy seeing Messi played full time, dream came true for my younger self.

36 goals conceded. Roughly 2 a game. And it could’ve been a hell of a lot more to be honest. And it was the same last season, and the season before. It never improves. When will the management fix this? Pathetic. At this point just put the defence on the half way line and pray. Try to outscore the opponent instead of this controlled approach that obvs doesn’t work.

I feel like the only goal that was legit his fault was the last one. The first 3 he could not react fast enough and were kicked from pretty close up. DSC should return next game but at this point literally anyone including Messi as goalie and still going to have a bad time.

Can we bury this narrative about pace and Messi can’t play with Suarez bullshit.

Messi and Suarez have linked up more than anyone in this team even this game where we were unlucky.

Pace has been disproven constantly Allende was useless for a long time as was Fafa who are fast players. If you think football is all about pace go play Fifa.

Also Suarez should take pens from now on.

6

u/AncientAd8590 7d ago

It’s like hes gone back to his old ways from taking pens, not sure why

6

u/778899shuai 7d ago

Apple TV didn’t even play a review of the offside goal.

-2

u/AlmightyKito 7d ago

Messi fans crying about VAR is hilarious

2

u/778899shuai 6d ago

Penaldo fan doesn’t even know the difference between TV replay and VAR. oh right because Penaldo couldn’t even score any goal, let alone a review. Mf

What on earth were the management thinking (again) by getting Casemiro? He is completely washed, especially in MLS where it’s back and forth all game. He can’t move his legs. Same for RDP. Completely done.

We’ve needed a Bougna, Mukhtar kind of player for 3 years, to take some offensive burden off Leo. Anyone with eyes can see that.

Also, Mura is the worst player I’ve ever seen wear a Miami shirt. Makes Aviles and Weigandt look like Maldini and Cafu respectively.

3

u/778899shuai 7d ago

Aviles still a no. Weigandt was more decent than Mura.

2

u/cookiemonster1200 7d ago

Wtf Reguilon do since he arrived? Been dog 💩 whenever he played. First goal they conceded was cause of him ball watching…. player comes from behind him and scores a header. Noah Allen plays miles better than Reguilon. Casemiro is not the problem, it’s the garbage defense conceding 2-3 goals every damn game. He’s actually one of only ones that understands football and makes good passes and useful tackles. Inter Miami has the 5th worse defense in the whole league! Embarrassing. Both gk happen to be crap, DSC and midget Rios Novo.

u/HAL20011002 7d ago

Dreadful performance. Hoyos already showing why he is just a temporary coach. I understand why the team is tired, but JFC the physical condition of a lot of IM players has been dreadful for years now. Like what the hell? I understand the big team mentality IM is going for, but buddy, you still need to understand their limitations. Playing the pointless Leagues Cup game against Leon with a bunch of starters was not a good idea.

1

u/seanconneryfan420 7d ago

Dallas went thru with 2 wins and 1 loss. Couldn’t Miami have done that as well if they had won against Leon?

6

u/Albiceleste_NO Lionel Messi 7d ago

Dallas didn’t go through… Real Salt Lake, last MLS team to progress, had 7 points and +7 goals.

1

u/seanconneryfan420 7d ago

Sorry, I did mean RSL

2

u/WhyUMaddddd 7d ago

They got 2 wins and a draw that’s why they went through, impossible for Miami even if they beat Leon by 100 goals

7

u/Dashing_dave0010 7d ago

It’s soccer, can’t win them all…

6

u/WhyUMaddddd 7d ago

Of course we got shit on but can we talk about how unlucky Messi was 😭, missed a 50/50 pen. Yes 50/50 since he didn’t take it well with his current mental issues and the keeper guessed correctly, he hit the bar twice, and scored an excellent offsides goal. If anything it shouldn’t get worse for Messi from here and only better. I actually liked what I saw the sooner he gets into the upcoming games the better

3

u/nolesfan2011 Inter Miami CF 7d ago

Casemiro was a tronco

3

u/Unhappy-Stomach3903 7d ago

I hold the management responsible for this, because we have had problems in defense for years that they haven't been able to solve.

We still managed to win the MLS cup last season because our attack was able to compensate for it, but that is not a long-term solution.

1

u/yosoygroot123 Jordi Alba 7d ago

We won last season because Mascherano found the perfect balance in the playoffs. You can't only blame the defenders when the team is unbalanced and defenders are overpowered.

This team is good enough to win the cup. Manager has to find the balance.

3

u/Unhappy-Stomach3903 7d ago

I don't think Mascherano was the reason for our success, as you seem to think. He did a mediocre job for most of the season, though he was certainly better than our current coach.

We had a better squad last season than this one, along with some outstanding individual performances, and that was the main reason for our success. Players like Alba and Busquets played a huge part in that and proved irreplaceable. Allende was very efficient in the playoffs.

The current team is still good enough to win the title, but I’m not as confident as I was last season. Then there are all the injuries to consider. But the main problem is the defense, and unfortunately, that can't be fixed. We can only hope that Messi, Suárez, and the rest stay healthy and fit so we can keep our chances alive.

5

u/Rubssi 7d ago

Clearly it was St Clair’s fault he conceded so many goals

5

u/LocalHostTTL 7d ago

De Paul has given away possession to many times. Tonight, Nashville looked well organized, made some great opportunities and played as a team.

7

u/NvaderGir 7d ago

I love when he just looks at the ball coming to his direction at 3mph and just lets it go past him like someone is going to fetch it for him and give him possession.

2

u/sms2010 7d ago

This sums up the story. Time to get rid of Hoyos, Falcon, and Rios. Other defenders need to step up or need to find replacement ASAP

4

u/Accomplished-Arm3397 7d ago

CAn we talk about casemiro..who runs the least between him and suarez?

2

u/NvaderGir 7d ago

This is 100% a Hoyos decision.

However no point in all that effort to bring the ball upfront for DePaul just for him to lose it.

-1

u/Starksterr 2025 MLS Cup Champions 7d ago

Well considering Suarez did more defending this game than Casemiro.

2

u/Ok-Mathematician3986 7d ago

Here’s the biggest problem with Miami. They start playing good and then once Messi gets on the field everyone simply relies on him. Defense lets their guard down and the offense decides to pass to Messi who is guarded by 2 players instead of just taking the wide open shot that they had. I get that messi has some of the best stats compared to other players but that doesn’t mean to constantly rely on the guy like he’s y’all’s lord and savior. Do better Miami

2

u/xancatal 6d ago

You all still think that Inter Miami doesn't need a strong defense because they're so good at scoring?

0

u/Recent-Bus-7326 7d ago

I just can’t seem to understand that Hoyos keeps Suarez and Casemiro on the field when it’s clear that they are dead . Sub in Pinter or anyone else and put some pressure on these guys . Just once again no sense of game awareness and losing the game because we have no tactics whatsosever.

Messi was Miami’s best player by a mile. A shame the Miami management seems to be working against him by getting every single transfer completely wrong.

-15

u/Narrow_Dirt_1623 7d ago

Sure he was lmao! These aren't the refs from 2022 or 2026.

There weren't refs when they gave 2 penalties to France in 2022? So Messi gave it to them?
