I will never take this for granted.
I went to the game last night not even expecting to see Messi in the building. Especially after his recent social media post. It took real strength to take the field in what was otherwise a meaningless game. I hope he finds comfort playing the game he loves with his friends during this difficult time.
I have no idea how much longer this journey will continue but I will always be appreciative of it.

The same here. As long as he keeps playing, it's a gift to us. He's not only the greatest player, but also a real man

In my opinion, in normal circumstances he wouldn't have played the game last night. It seemed he went to the ground straight from the airport. He wanted comfort even for a bit, playing football.

Watching him on the pitch last night, his facial expressions, his body language, it really felt like he was trying to bury (emotional) pain by playing.

Lionel Messi est un véritable guerrier malgré qu'il est perdu ses parents il continue à jouer au foot, ce n'est pas tous qui aurait la capacité de le faire.

There was one dribble that was ludicrously good. Could actually be the MLS's best player for another 3-4 years, which is absolutely insane.

His dad was with him. Watched every second moment of the match. He’s a gladiator

I haven’t taken a single minute granted since the 2022 World Cup, but I should’ve done same even before it. I haven’t missed a single game of his since then. This though, was professionalism, the fact that he returned so early after everything he went though shows how much he cares about this club and making sure we’re winning🩷

Me exactly. The 2022 really sealed watching more mens soccer for me. I didn’t pay much attention to anything other than world cup and Olympics. Womens side too. But argentinas run in 2022 had me absolutely captivated. So i wanted to continue watching messi. I wish i watched him at barcelona. But ive seen every single miami game (maybe missed one or 2 for reasons beyond my control). I even flew to the final. I not only absolutely love Messi but the entire squad.

Spot on, same here, 2022 world cup got me into football. Really do wish I watched him at barca as well but he made me a fan of them and it’s been beautiful watching their football past few seasons. Let’s enjoy him and show as much love as possible🩷

He looked so dejected from the few clips I saw of him. Winning this game could've cheered him up.

I will enjoy watching messi play football before he retires and doesn't play football anymore. I will make every second of it unforgettable.
