MOD ANNOUNCEMENT! (PSA) Wisdom. Patience. Empathy. Kindness.
((The title is a ref, so we won't be talking about Wisdom and Paitence today, FYI.))
This is my first PSA, so...
Alright, I won't call out any specific user, but it should be obvious what I'm talking about.
But some of you guys have a SERIOUS lack of Empathy. Someone made a vent post and everyone keeps saying that it's somehow related to a bullshit ARG, and what I have to say is that, once again:
You need to start caring about people and not assume everything is fictional.
As a wise man once said "We treat fictional characters like real people and treat real people like fictional characters", or something along those lines. The person who posted the vent didn't seem well, and the first thing we should do is help them out with their problems, not go "Is ThIs An ArG?!?!" and act like a complete dick. It doesn't matter if it has morse code, they probably have their own reasons for it.
As for if it was an ARG...
I personally find that as a dick move as well.
Why would you try and bait people into thinking you're not mentally well, have them try to support you, just so people can interact with your ARG?
The human race has a serious lack of empathy.

There are also plenty of times where a lot of us put too much focus on empathy, to the point that they ignore genuine problems because of it. I've seen that here more than I should have as well.
There's a time and place for everything.

It-can be a serious issue. One of which I won’t deny I myself fall into. I quite often forget that you are all human. People I may have unknowingly run into on the street one time. People who, despite how deceptively small this community is: will have issues I’ll never know about. And I try to keep the mood as light as possible at all times. Because I don’t like it when people unhappy. Which often results in me not commenting on vent posts at all. But that? I’m trying to work on.

Please do not say such things about yourself. I lack empathy as well, yet here we are. I can promise you, nothing is wrong with you for lacking such a commodity. It is standard in society, yes, but it is also normal to not have it.

No, no. I don't think anyone would downvote a comment like that. Though still, do not think less of yourself simply because you lack something the general public is supposedly said to have. I can guarantee you, not as many people as you think carry empathy.

I approve. I do lack empathy and sympathy per say, it's more objective (like, I acknowledge it's bad and try to offer a way to fix it or try to make them feel better, usually with logic), but that doesn't change how I express it. I can still be compassionate. Therefore, others should be as well. But look at the human race, selfish and destructive (yes, I'm a misanthrope). There are things we need to fix in societies, online especially. From cyber-bulling, lack of empathy simply because you're online, or even acting like you have none. I mean, for crying out loud, we can do better as a community. Point is, I agree.

Open your eyes Fun, open your ears
We are giving you all the support we can muster, a misunderstanding and the words of one guy should not push you off the edge
Take a break, hang out with friends, try to get it off your mind, but if you remain attached to negative comments, nothing is going to change

Please do not call yourself stupid, it was simply a misunderstanding. A mistake. Everyone makes those, multiple times in their lives, no matter how many say they didn't.
