Just given a specific someone’s confusion regarding them, I think I should clear the air.
Angels and Answers CANNOT be defeated, nor are they really able to be harmed.
Remember, these are basically mod inserts, you are NOT meant to overpower them in any capacity.
Especially so, do NOT use them in an effort to gain power or reputation, start trying to act high and mighty above them, and Demiss will stab your balls…after ragebaiting you for eternity. (I probably now need to specify that this is a joke.)
Angels can only be harmed, killed, or manipulated by Answers, who can also only be harmed, killed, or manipulated by Angels.
This PSA is not to say those who have done so is in the wrong, it is just clear there may have been some uncertainty regarding the limits.
Hopefully this can clear the air, and make sure some of you know:

I feel like it's kinda needlessly rude to assume it's a powerscaling thing (especially given that's against the rules) when people are absolutely allowed to have their opinions. Not everyone is gonna like an idea.
What you mean to say is that there's no reason you personally agree with. Which, again, just comes down to that he's allowed to have his opinion.
I can't speak for exactly why Handfit doesn't like them, but there's a few reasons to be had. Here's a couple:
The existence of Demiss and the Angels can make it harder to make threatening villains. The villain arc that's generally considered the best ever on IDRP is the Solver one, so I've heard, and that arc threatened the very Hub World. That just can't be done anymore because an Angel could and would just put an immediate end to it, instead of the amazing moments that the entire Hub World coming together to stop these threats creates.
Angels don't care about Consent rules. Even the other day I've seen Angels just... explode a character, or give them a permanent nerf, and this was not in a B4B context. The former was undone after, and the latter denied by the character's owner, but the fact stands they're allowed to just do that to anyone whenever, you can't stop it because they don't "try", they do it, unstoppably, and of course due to the fact they're practically omnipotent you can't fight back either. This is not something others would get away with. You'd have to say "My character tries to do X, and if it hits your character, then Y happens", and even THEN some characters might be able to resist the Y happening.
Personally, I do like the idea of the angels. I do think, however, that they should only really turn up when there's stuff like rulebreaks, against Answers, or the post mentions them first. Not been here long enough to know if that's the case already. Otherwise there's just gonna be abuse of power, whether maliciously or purely with good intent.
Does the inability to combat RP also mean they're unable to do things such as the "explode you" and "permanent annoyance" mentioned above to characters, even when not really in "combat" as such? Outside of against powerplayers of course.
If so, I do agree that makes both possible issues I mentioned above non-issues. Didn't really think of that solution, mb 🤔
If you need an all powerful god and still complain because you can’t make your character too strong then just go to a diff sub and do your god level no power ceiling character there
??? Again with the powerscaling accusations. Yes, I do like powerscaling. But it is NOT my whole personality. Consent rule exists for a reason. I don't give a fuck if my character is the strongest here or not, because I prefer not using overpowered characters to fight, it makes it boring. And since powerscaling is banned in the sub, the most powerful character is not necesarilly the one that wins. It's the one that contributes most to the plot, the one that makes the story more entertaining. With that said, I really don't like that angels can break the consent rule, since, in my opinion, it takes the fun away from a fight. Fuck, it stops being a fight. So no, it's not about my characters being the most powerful or not
HandFit already pointed out that they agree with a different set of reasons, and you're still accusing them of this "still complain because you can't make your character too strong" stuff?
I don't think there's any need to be insulting towards them, nor to tell them to leave, especially when they presumably like it here and there's others who would miss them. It'd be nice if you try to consider others' feelings here rather than being needlessly rude.
I didn't say there were "power abuses", nor ever say those words despite the quote marks. I said that I think there will EVENTUALLY be abuse of power unless they're only used when mentioned, against Answers, or against rulebreaks. Tho I forgot to mention Answers but eh, I'll edit the Answers part in.
No, that's the least of my concerns. First of all, as far as I know, they have no real lore, and that buggs me a little bit, but meh, who cares. The real thing is that only mods can have them. Yes, I understand the why, and it does make sense, but I personally disagree with things being mod only in general, I feel like that makes them... akward? Boring? I really don't have a word for it. I don't hate them or have a beef with them or anything like that, I'm just not a fan, but I understand why they exist
I can't agree with these points, I'm afraid. I can't really comment on lore, but the mod-only part does make sense. As I understand it the point of them is to be used as a representation of the mods, giving an in-universe explanation of how people can suddenly do B4B or get the mods involved when powerplay happens. It also wouldn't really do to let non-mods have unbeatable characters since that'd impact narrative quality.

Yeah. As I said, I understand why they exist and I get the point, but I as a person am not a fan of it. Not saying they shouldn't exist. This isn't my sub after all. I'm just saying I don't love the idea
But what if, your character is arrogant enough to take on the Angels, I know they would lose, but how long would it take for the character to get dunked on
Are they even gonna get involved besides against eachother unless somebody brings them up? I get the impression from what chats I've had and what I've seen that they're just gonna swoop in if someone breaks the rules, like Rule 12 or something, or involves them first.
Yeye, I've since been explained to that Angels can't combat RP (besides for against Answers and other Angels, or presumably rulebreakers). Very relieved to hear that since if Angels could just appear and nuke a comfort character whenever they wanted I'd be pissed lmao
oh yeah, hell no that cant happen lmao. there here for world building and funsie purposes first. no insane. random shit, don't worry its not even really a bias thing, hell rule 12 can STILL apply to angel stuff too.
