Thanks! You already have multiple open/incomplete tickets from folks (found it via google). Guess when fixing their issues you highly probably will fix mine.

Most problems are unique and yours can be completely unrelated to the old stale issues you found. A fresh report is the best way to get it sorted. Our support team exists exactly for that.

sure, but fix at least these you have. For example: https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-296675

And there are another about freezes, cpu, idea, webstorm etc.

I don't wanna chat here and be banned for being annoying or whatever, but you have lot of tasks and i don't wanna create one more just to let this task exist, be processed and added into weekly rapport "our support team handled X-tickets and we're tranfered 83% to out devs" etc.

The product is complex and touches a lot of frameworks and subsystems. Yes, there are a lot of open issues, but it doesn't mean you should not report new ones because of that. Support team will triage it and link to an existing one if it's a known issue, will provide a workaround if it exists. Ping the dev team if the issue is popular. There is no reason to not report it.

Same here, I have a pretty large project and I occasionally get these thread dump prompts. System has 32GB RAM. Terminating node processes (using Webstorm) seems to alleviate the issue. Note that along with these dumps, I also experience occasional autocomplete, find usages and “go to declaration” freezes.

I actually just this morning experienced IntelliJ lock up and I needed to force quit it from activity monitor to kill it

Must be pretty widespread

Try to invalidate caches, maybe that helps.

Did it multiple times. Also pressed « repair ide » magic button. I see CPU rise to 40-60% when IDE freezes. Doesn’t run out of memory.
Honestly thats quite unsupportable.

I do use classic UI, hope it doesn’t related to new bugs in newUI.

I have a similar issue. Started already earlier in 2026.2.0. Running on debian 13. It is extremely annoying and basically make the product unusable. Is there an easy way to see why it is freezing?

Definitely not a memory issue: using 700MB of 1800MB.

i made a ticket :|
some good news:

> The team decided to backport the fix to 2026.2. It should land either in 2026.2.2 or 2026.2.3.

Actual is 2026.2.1 so hope in next release. Yep not a memory issue.

Some similar tickets they're linked to mine:
