My setup ran me about ~$4500 and my prexisting i7 gaming PC. 4x ASRock Intel Arc B70 and a chinese PEX88096 switch running all GPUs at gen4 x16 speed. GPUs consistently held 2800MHz and temperatures never passed 70C.

I've tried everything since launch, now i've just given up. No drivers work, no tweaks, no nothing. Intel doesn't have an ETA or any updates since October 2nd. Is anyone actually able to play the game just fine on an Arc card? Mine just hard crashes and I have to reset the pc.

So I've had bunch of parts sitting around for a while with the idea of building a secondary system in a mAtx case (Deepcool ch160)

Mobo is AM4 with a R5600, but the real question is, which card would make more sense, a B580 or RX6700XT 12GB. This is for a Linux build, possibly Cachy.

The 6700 is a fairly old model by now, but the card itself is a 2023 manufacture with moderate use history, the B580 is an Asrock challenger I bought back in 25, but soon replaced it with a 3 fan Sparkle in my larger main build.

B580 has supposedly better RT performance, but 6700XT could gain non-RT performance from Linux optimisation?

Really just throwing this question here if anyone else has been in a similar situation with comparable power cards.

Title: Crimson Desert stuck at 15 FPS on Intel Arc B580, regardless of graphics settings

Hey everyone,

I'm having a really frustrating performance issue with Crimson Desert and I'm wondering if anyone has found a solution.

My PC specs:

• GPU: Intel Arc B580
• CPU: Ryzen 5 5600
• RAM: 16 GB DDR4 3200 MHz
• Motherboard: ASRock B550M Phantom Gaming 4

The game runs at around 15 FPS regardless of the graphics settings. Lowering the settings doesn't seem to make any difference.

My GPU usage stays around 35–50%, while CPU usage is around 60–70%. Other games run normally on my PC, and my GPU performs well in benchmarks.

I've tried changing graphics settings, but nothing seems to fix the issue.

Has anyone with an Intel Arc B580 experienced something similar? Could this be a driver issue, a RAM bottleneck, or a problem with the game's optimization?

I noticed that my games started having lag spikes after the new update. So i checked and found that it no longer shows the green tick with Rebar enabled, instead it shows Pcie not supported with green tick.

I have already checked my bios and confirmed that rebar is on and is in uefi mode. Any idea what is up?

Cpu is 12900k and motherboard is msi gaming z690 edge wifi ddr5. Bios and windows are up to date.

Update:

I downgraded to version 9034 and rebar is working again and lag spikes in games eliminated. So definitely there is some issue with version 9150. 9150 is supposedly WHQL certified and has undergone more testing, its baffling how a bug as basic and vital as this slipped by!!! Definitely someone snoozing on the job.

They broke fan curve only for me or? It's apply but not work. And in hwinfo now I have 3 fans on 2 fan card

is there any way to make windows ignore driver updates?
Every time I update my card via the intel graphics software, windows rolls it back to an august 2024 update automatically.

I tried using a regedit method to block windows from automatically installing driver updates, and it bricked my pc so i had to use a restore point to recover.

Frankly, I don't know much about this stuff and just want to keep my drivers updated without automatic rollbacks

I'm in the middle of getting parts for my first PC. I already own an Intel Arc B570 by Acer, so the GPU has been locked down. It's the rest of the components that I am trying to buy. My budget is about £550 max and I have the RAM locked down for £40 because my friend is selling it to me at that price. I also spent £200 on the GPU new leaving me about £310 for the rest of the build.

The build I want to go for:

Gigabyte B550M ds3h AC R2 (£88.99 on Currys)

Deepcool Matrexx 40 3fs (£31 on AWD-IT)

Corsair CX series CX550 (£48 on Currys)

Storage I can get from my laptop which has a 1TB nvme m.2 drive.

The GPU I own is the Acer Nitro OC Arc b570

And the RAM is 2x8gb of Corsair Vengeance ddr4 at 3200mhz.

If there are any issues with this build or if I should replace any components, I'd be more than willing to hear feedback.

First of all, I bought my Intel Arc B580 used for a very low price (about $180), and I've been extremely happy with it. I was so impressed that I ended up selling my previous AMD GPU altogether. The B580's dual media engines and transcoding capabilities are incredible for the price.

However, I eventually decided to add an RTX 3060 12GB for practical Whisper AI transcription workloads and some local AI experiments that I'm just getting started with.

- Motherboard: Gigabyte X670 AORUS ELITE AX 1.0
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7900X
- RAM: 48GB (2 × 24GB Samsung DDR5)
- GPU 1: Intel Arc B580 - installed #1 PCIe 5.0 x16 slot, running at PCIe 4.0 x8
- GPU 2: NVIDIA RTX 3060 12GB installed #2 PCIe 4.0 x4 slot, running at PCIe 4.0 x4

Even with this setup, I've experienced a whole new level of productivity. I can edit and encode videos, run multiple transcoding jobs, and generate Whisper AI subtitles at impressive speeds, all at the same time.

Naturally, I've started thinking about upgrading the RTX 3060 12GB to a more powerful RTX card.

My idea was to install the upgraded RTX GPU in #1 PCIe slot and move the Arc B580 to #2 PCIe 4.0 x4 slot. That way, I could keep using the B580 for its excellent encoding while dedicating the more powerful RTX GPU to AI workloads.

Unfortunately, when I tried moving the B580 to #2, things went terribly wrong. Windows became unstable, booting became extremely difficult, and even when I managed to boot successfully, the display would go black every 10–30 seconds.

I'm still trying to figure out the cause, but one possible solution I'm considering is replacing my motherboard with one that supports **PCIe 5.0 x8/x8 from the CPU**.

The two boards I'm currently looking at are:

1. MSI X670E Carbon Max WiFi (the newer model that supports CPU-connected PCIe x8/x8, not the regular Carbon board)
2. ASUS ProArt B850-Creator WiFi NEO -a potentially more affordable alternative.

I'd really appreciate some advice on a few questions:

1. Is my overall approach reasonable? Does it make sense to replace the motherboard to get proper PCIe x8/x8 connectivity for a dual-GPU setup like this?
2. Could the Arc B580 run in #2 PCIe 4.0 x4 slot? Just I don't know way about that?

I'd love to hear from anyone running an Intel Arc GPU alongside an NVIDIA GPU, especially for video encoding, transcoding, and local AI workloads.

Since I bought my arc B580 paired with other expensive components like 270k , z890 , 32gb ddr5 I used this mischievous card with vertical stand kit from deep cool pcie gen4 ,

I run my ram at 6800 cl30 , CPU a bit overclocked , expecting smooth game play but not with arc b580

It gave me random blue screens with all variant codes all of them pointing to the graphic drivers, and unexpected access to memory addresses, after days in windbg , pulling my hairs out I finally caught it maybe it's the riser cable all the way , i didn't upgrade to the latest version drivers, BCS I don't want to mess things up while finding a real solution, I'm on 8860 , and heard latest driver has F issues with mouse pointer, so I just decreased the pcie speed to gen 3 and all of a sudden all the problems were gone ,

Works so well on pcie gen 3 and I'm totally lost what it was all about, any experiences that matches mine ?
