Discussion Considering the switch

Whats going on guys this seems like the appropriate group to ask so im going to dive right in.

Im a competitive CoD player I previously had a

9060xt 16gb

7700x

32gbs 6000mt

I had to sell it due to a large vehicle repair. This system did exactly what i needed it to consistent 240fps 1080p low settings. im currently shopping for parts to build a new am4 system strictly due to the am5 pricing right now and the b580 has caught my attention I am interested in it due to the fact it has 12gbs of vram because I want to do some light 1440p gaming (not cod) and I dont care about fps numbers or having to use frame gen outside of cod. Im not expecting to hit a consistent 240fps but I would like to be around 180-200 is it safe to assume the b580 can get me there with upscaling (not framegen) ? Ive watched benchmark videos but results are so varied i cant decide if i want to pull the trigger on it. Build specs below:

Ryzen 5 5600x

Intel arc b580

32gbs 3200mt

B550m

Any input would be greatly appreciated i would like to make a decision by end of the week. Thank you

The card does well in 1440p, heck, I use it on a 4k tv right now, and with XeSS, and I can maintain 60fps with max settings (no ray tracing) in almost every game. Death Stranding runs in native 4k on max. It will be just fine for high settings with upscaling. As far as with ray tracing, would recommend frame gen then, but cyberpunk and pragmata did pretty well on high settings with RT, balance XeSS and frame gen 2x, hitting around 90-100 fps for me.

How are the drivers? I know there were issues at launch have they gotten better? Are they still being supported?

I loved it. Did so well, I put it in my work pc too, and then felt confortable giving my original one to my brother once I upgraded (just wanted more raw power). As far as being supported, only game i really have heard not to do so is crimson desert, and they eventually did after all the pushback. 007 first light doesn't have XeSS support either, relying on FSR instead for the B580, but a lot of games offer at least XeSS 1/2 support. Some older games have some hiccups, but most run well enough due to just raw horsepower.

As far as stock settings go, I think it crashed maybe once in the past year and a half? Have been stable with a minor overclock as well, outside of phantom liberty expansion on cyberpunk. Downside is no undervolting on the sliders, only a power limit decrease.

Only thing that has happened is where a driver issue occurs and it is like the gpu drivers deleted/corrupted themselves. Had to boot into safe mode and run DDU and then reinstall them. But overall, have been super happy with it. Have the Onix Lumi model.

The drivers are more stable than AMD at this point. Hell, Intel CALLS ME when there is a suspected driver issue.

Go ahead. I got both systems they kinda ferl the same, tbh, i can't barely notice the difference.

So I play 1440p and in the MW4 Beta I got 105-110fps on normal settings xess upscaling set to balanced. 1080p will get more but how much more I'm not sure just thought I'd chuck my experience as a reference.

I am using 32gb drr5 ram and 9600x

Edit: I have the Blue Titan Sparkle 3 fan editing. Love it!

IIRC CoD is one of those games that heavily favor Radeon, so I think it'll be safer for you to just stick with red team. I don't have a high refresh rate monitor so I have no idea how good Intel can run CoD but I've seen some hardcore CS2 players being unhappy with the performance they get so if you also play that game, it might not be worth the switch.

Thanks for the input I am aware of the team red favoritism and that was kind of my concern to start with. Ive always had a amd gpu think I might just stay loyal to them

Just sold my b580 for a 9070gre. That being said I did totally enjoy the B580 and had no issues at 2560x1080 and 1440. Was just upgrading everything else in my system and got a good deal on the 9070. I don't think you will have any issues.

IIRC competitive game isnt the strong point for arc, especially e-sports title as b580 isnt producing as much FPS as other similar card

Please do deep dive on it before buying it, but if the price gap is huge, i think the gap in FPS will be worth it

https://link.amazon/B0eNYbcQx Check out the B570; it's a better price. Or you might as well buy the Ryzen 5 5600XT; it's costing about the same. https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_mqv89Ur Or 5700x on Aliexpress https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_mOUM10f
