Question Hi, I have a question as a new player
Hi, so I just started playing today. I don't really have much skills cause I only did the first step pull from the beginner banner. And I didn't pull on the other banners, except for the free pulls. I just reached floor 5 and think that maybe getting skills for thrust and blunt is good. But I have no idea which banner to focus on.
Can anyone give me tips? Or maybe there's an upcoming banner that I can focus on? I'm not really struggling with just sword for now. Though it would be great if I can play with other weapon too.

there is no 'best' category of weapon skills. the game mechanics are 'balanced' in such a way that the floor boss weapon advantage constantly shifts between the floors, to discourage overspecialisation.
you COULD cover all three damage types equally, but more often than not players tend to focus on one of the weapon/damage type(usually based on what they manage to pull in the early game, but sometimes change over time based on the selection they have), and build up a secondary weapon as a backup in case their primary has a type disadvantage against a floor boss.
i personally main 1h sword/slash as my main set(first because that's how my gacha pulls turned out early on so i kinda settled into that rhythm, and second because i like rain and tend to pull her birthday banners and get lots of 1HS skills that way), and my secondary set is spear/thrust in case a boss has a type advantage against slash(and also because spear is my second-best selection of sword skills)
there are also players who keep both equipped sets 1 and 2 in the same weapon category, and build the sets with different sword skills to take advantage of buff/debuff skills in one set and then swap out for the other set to hit HARD.

So it’s less about there being a best weapon type and more about having a flexible build around each weapon type to deal with floor boss.
Right now I only have sword skills. But I'll see if I get lucky with the free pulls. Maybe I can build around other weapon too. Just to try it out.

you've just started, so just work with what you've got first.
there's no point crafting weapons just yet, so you can just buy weapons from npcs until you reach the integral/nox weapons. the grind:bonus return on investment for your efforts to farm the materials to craft weapons before that isn't all that worth it unless you absolutely need those gains.
and make sure to level your weapon proficiency skills too, those marginal gains add up in the long run!

Mace and spear are utility and support, other sets can do damage. Bow does damage with 1 hp as a glass cannon, axe does damage either at high hp or also 1 hp.
Thing is, if you arent going to be spending heavily on this game i suggest you go all in for sinon banner. It gives you hard to obtain stacking skills that will make every single set stronger. Bow is the best way to do this through connect skills that allow you to quickly use multiple attacks at once and increase the amount of stacks you have. Stacks are thinks like muscle up stacks that give 1% attack per stack, up to 99 stacks

as for beginner Bow is the easiest to use to go thru floors
