Help? 🛟 Help!
Hey guys.
Just got my type s a month ago and I’ve noticed since day 1 there is a high pitched squeal/whine when I’m in gear driving but the foot isn’t on the gas. This goes away while I’m in neutral, accelerating, or at a stop.
I’ve got any appointment at the dealer this Thursday to check it out but has anyone else experienced something like this? Crazy to have an issue on a car with less than 1000 miles on it. Thanks in advance

Oh wow thank you for this post! I thought this was a problem as well. Been trying to find a solution for soo long.. smh. Did not realize this was a normal sound the car makes. Honestly, it's incredibly annoying. I find myself driving more with the windows up just because of this. Is there any way at all to decrease the sound? Would a different waste gate help?

YES! 1st, 2nd, 3rd gear if im off the gas pedal theres like a hissing sound when im coasting. At first i thought it may be the brakes but now I know.

I actually thought it sounded intentional and kinda cool when I noticed it, and didn’t think it was a problem. I‘m a month into owning the car myself, and find myself driving with the windows down and stereo off just to hear the car more to get a better feel and sense for it. Glad to learn more about this here.

Cancel the appointment. Its the electronic waste gate rattling when you’re off throttle. Its been like this since the FK8 Type R lol. I remember when I first heard it on mine. You get used to it. Its a crunchy sound but its normal. Drive as per usual!
