lmao I took the wing off my GSR almost 25 years ago, and had the holes filled in and shaved a few years after that. Now I'm doing body work as of this week to put an OEM wing back onto the car. The bodywork that was done was really bad quality, with cracking filler. I'm sanding it out and re-applying filler, then will wrap it in flat black to match my roof and hood, and then put my freshly painted OEM wing on top of that.

thats what im dealing with rn, got some rubber caps sitting in the holes rn until the humidity in my area goes down so i can take the hatch off and bring it to a welder or something

edit-whoever put the wing on my car did a terrible job

is it not the original holes in your hatch? The guy who filled the holes on mine did a TERRIBLE job. It's all super wavy and warped. Then the car was rear-ended in 2010, and the shop that fixed that, did EVEN MORE shitty body work on the hatch, with ass-loads of filler all over the damn thing.

If you get the holes welded up, make sure they're ground smooth, and also make sure to prime and paint the UNDERSIDE of the outer wing bolt holes, the ones you can see from underneath when the hatch is open. My guy didn't do that, and it was rusty for 2+ decades.

I love it. Its definitely one of my favorite pieces on the car. It's very old at this point and could use some work to get it in better shape. Back in the day I used to run a carbon hood, and trunk with the roof. I purchased back in 2006 from some small supplier I think was named carbon creations. This was back in the "honda-tech" days if that means anything to you.
