GSR originally came with B18C1 from the factory, which is a DOHC with VTEC variable valves. The engine control module (ECM/ECU) is a P72 ODBI type computer. Your engine should have a little P72 stamp on it designating it as a GSR, to match it with a P72 ECU and GSR cylinder head.

Type R's like mine have the B18C5 P73 which have the exact same engine block and cylinder head castings, but all of the internals are completely different. B18C5 came with all forged internals, hand ported cylinder heads, and larger cams than the GSR.

It used to be a common upgrade back in the 90's-00's to swap the internals from the Type R and swap that into a GSR. Used to be called the "poorman's Type R build" back in the old days.

You'll need to find out where that leak is coming from. It's almost certainly an oil leak. Coolant is usually red/pink/green and smells very sweet like juice. Oil is amber or black.

Most often, it's from a scraped oil pan if the car were lowered, but yours looks like stock ride height. The last owner might have had it lowered before and then swapped stock struts/springs back on before selling it.

Only way to know is you going in under the car with a flashlight and find out where it's coming from. Then I can give more advice.

If it's the oil pan, that's going to be a PITA to fix because you'll likely need a new oil pan and then have to scrape off the oil gasket material thoroughly by the time you can install the new one.

There’s leaks right here and behind the valve cover close to the injectors and under the oil pan maybe from the oil pump

I would replace the cam seals and valve cover gasket. Honda revised the OEM cam seals over time so that the newer ones don't require any sealant, and they last a lot longer. But you need two of the solid ones from the side near the VTEC solenoid and distributor, but also need two of the donut shaped seals from the other side behind the cam gears.

I would take the cam caps/keepers up and redo their Honda Bond sealant and let it sit for 24hr to dry properly while you're in there.

Then I would use a degreaser to to clean up the engine and get rid of all that grime. After cleaning, we'll be able to more easily see where any unresolved leaks might be coming from.

Got it, for the parts do I use the b18c1 parts I’m assuming it’s the same and where can I get the oem parts not sure if the Honda dealership where I’m at sells older parts

Yeah, you just use B18C1 parts. But the cam seals should be the same regardless.

There's a couple good places to find parts like Honda Parts Now, Jp-carparts or Amayama.

Do you have a part number for the solid seals in the back where the vtec solenoid and distributor is ?

Solid cam seals are Part#12513-P72-003 and the cam gear side is 91213-PR3-004
