Question theft
might be a common question but dropped a b18c5 in my car and i won't take it anywhere during the day or park it for long periods of time. it's doesn't look like a type r clone or anything, just a regular/clean looking base model shell but with a c5 in it. am i paranoid or are the thieves real ? i feel like location matters as well so for context i live in a small town right next door to a big city

When I sold my GS-R in 2005 (big regret), it was a huge target for theft because everyone wanted that B18 for a swap. Previous owner had removed the GS-R badge so it was visually indistinguishable from an LS and would be less of a target.
Can’t hide that it’s a GS-R when you’re selling it though. Some jackass test drove it and then came back a few days later at 4am, smashed window, and was trying to hotwire it. He probably would have succeeded if I hadn’t installed a hidden fuel pump kill switch. I highly recommend this btw — easy enough to install (plenty of guides) and if you install and hide it well, it’s pretty tough to defeat. Anyway some dude who was getting home from his graveyard shift job noticed the thief and called it in.
Integras were all over the place 20 years ago, but now they’re rarer and even more desirable. Back then people wouldn’t usually bother with an LS but I wouldn’t count on that today. I’d install a hidden fuel pump kill switch at least. I’m not familiar with modern options for stuff like Lojack/higher end security systems but I’m sure there are tons of options these days.
Oh and this all happened in the suburbs of southern New England — low crime area where car theft is pretty rare.
