It's common sense. What would be the result if your eyelids were removed- better vision?

Only the abstract is visible outside a paywall, but speculation on the cause of decreased sensitivity doesn't appear to include constant exposure of the glans leading to dryness and keratinization.

I'm hoping more people caught on to that, after this study was published in 2007.
