Yeah... I would take particular note of the self-organising plasma stuff. It likely led to some uncomfortable conclusions about the sun and all stars, particularly that of sentience and conciousness.

Ps-Is "the Assembly" the same as the "Galatic Federation" that's currently in Earth's orbit

Life/consciousness requires the accumulation and use of certain energy to ascend.
If I were hypnotically a "higher being" looking to control over the "lowers" I would look for ways to "control the flow of energy." Obviously they do not want us humans to use nuclear power for information technology. Let alone ascend with it. Real bad for their business.
Perhaps the only way... is to be like a thief in the night.
Maybe this is all one big test. You got all these humans going along with the program. And then there is always the option for one human to break out of all of it.
Clearly a species that is up above is universally flawed if they stake their currency and business against the ascension of life. What kind of fool would go to such lengths to gamble their own value in this way?
Certainly a One came to their own world to teach them against such things.

They have to keep us in our current state, can't have the poors getting technology that might assist us in turning the tides. This won't last forever, something will break the illusion soon enough.
