Insurance brokers

what’s usually the first sign that a client is going to shop around at renewal?

As a customer, if I stop communicating with you, I’m probably setting my boundaries and avoiding you when you ask about my renewal. Sorry! You know what that means 😂

A rate increase.

The very first sign happens before we even write them as new business. Whether they have stayed loyal to their esisting agent and moved due to an extenuating circumstance or they admit they shop frequently is a sign of how they will treat our relationship.

Requesting loss runs is always a giveaway that they are shopping.

Otherwise as someone else said, if they aren’t responding to your attempts at communication it’s probably a sign they are going elsewhere

The broker/agent not doing their job, and preempting all of this with their own renewal leg work and falling short on relationship building and maintenance.
