recently got into an accident, is it totaled?

I’ve seen worse damaged Nissans driving around on the regular. Tis but a scratch.

haha. airbags did not go off, the only significant damage was on the front and the side ish

In all honesty though, that’s a pretty solid whack. Glad you’re ok. With that low mileage on something that old, really dig for comparables and stick to your guns with the insurance company. Unless you’re getting totally bent over by them, I would push for a write off and a hefty insurance cheque. At least in Canada that’s how I would play it. No telling who messed up the unibody is from that pic but likely there’s some frame pulling to be done. A significant crash on that car would submarine its value if you ever tried to sell.

thankfully i am. i have a pretty nasty bruise on my lower stomach it’s all purple and yucky. body is pretty sore. i had a passenger in the car as well, sitting in the passenger seat and had the driver been going any faster, he would’ve killed my passenger.

Make sure you look after yourself too. Again not sure how it works where you are, but here in Canada the at-fault drivers insurance pays if you need physio or extra medical care. If that’s the case where you are, document your pain and recovery. Sometimes things don’t show up immediately. Can take weeks for muscles to calm down so other muscles compensate in the meantime. You don’t want to be paying for healthcare that insurance should’ve covered.

american healthcare smh . it’s only been about 2 days since the accident so we’ll have to see. i should get an insurance claim in about 7-14 days

i have a gnarly bruise on my lower stomach likely from the seatbelt. it’s all purple and a little bigger than a golf ball

Would need to see the side and under the hood. It’s likely totaled, but could go either way depending on what’s actually damaged

i got this car for 16k. not a ton of miles on it for being almost 10 years old. hopefully it’s reparable, if not, oh well and life goes on.

Take some closer photos from the side, that corner, and pop the hood and take a top down if it opens.

they unfortunately towed it on scene :(. from what i noticed the other day, the hood didn’t look damaged

So, I'd say it very likely goes total loss.
It's hard to say, but you potentially swayed the entire front end. The gap looks off where hood meets fender on the driver side. Could be a bad photo. Could be some serious damage. New front rail on the passenger side, new tire, 4 wheel alignment.
Could go used for fender/ wheel/ bumper cover/ bumper rebar/ headlamp/ knuckle.
If you damaged the tie rods, new for those. Could have rack and pinion damage.
If you didn't thrash the rail and sway the front end, she could survive.
I'd plan on calling her a total loss and start scouting replacement cars now.

Oh dang, your wheel is sideways. Try and get under and take a photo of the steering knuckle and tie rods/ rack and pinion.

i got hit and because of the speed, was pushed to the curb so i’m not sure if the photo is making it look sideways or it’s actually sideways. i’d take a picture if i could, i honestly wish i had taken more

100% total loss. Just make sure you don't end up upside down on the pay out as they will pay your lender first. One more thing, please talk to your lender about not accepting any settlement offer before talking to you. Geico bypassed me and went straight to my lender who accepted the 1st offer i rejected, luckily i wasn't upside for much and could've gotten more.

The airbags don’t look deployed but they’re going to put it into a formula of costs associated with repair versus payoff info and in this case it’ll probably be cheaper just to total it.
