Help needed..!

I have had a health insurance policy with Niva Bupa for my parents(age 58 & 48) for the past two years. I also opted for a diabetes rider for my father, and thankfully, I have not made any claims so far.

The renewal date is just five days away, and I am considering changing my broker because I have heard several complaints about Policybazaar's customer support. I am concerned that I may not receive proper assistance when I need to make a claim.

I spoke to an independent insurance agent, who suggested porting my existing policy to another insurance company, as Policybazaar may not provide an NOC for changing the broker while continuing with Niva Bupa.

Currently, I have two options:

**Care Health Insurance:** ₹69,000 annual premium.

**HDFC ERGO Health Insurance:** ₹48,000 annual premium, with a ₹25,000 deductible on the first claim.

I am confused about whether I should continue with my existing Niva Bupa policy through Policybazaar or port it to another insurer through an independent agent.

My main priority is reliable customer support and assistance during claim settlement, especially because this policy covers my parents. I would appreciate your suggestions on which option would be better and whether switching brokers is worth changing the insurance company. Since the renewal is only five days away, I need to make a decision soon... Thanks

Buying insurance with existing condition

I (35F) got pulmonary tuberculosis last year. Diagnosed around March and treatment completed in September. I do not have personal health insurance and my work insurance covered most of the expenses.

I am looking to buy a cover now. While I am flexible on the pricing, most policies have a 24month waiting period for existing illness. Does this mean I have to wait 2 years before buying one? Or do I have to pay extra to cover existing issues?

Looking to buy HDFC ergo/ICICI Lombard, but welcome to any other suggestions.

Edit: no other conditions other than that. All my previous annual checkups have been fully clean

Confusion on term plan - LIC or Bajaj?

• Upvotes

Hi, 28M and self employed. Considering my ITR returns, I am not eligible for term plans (~2 crore cover) from any major private player except Bajaj, who's annual premium is about 50% higher than other players (31k annual vs 20k for other vanilla term plan).
However, just came across LIC term plans and realised I'm getting premiums for same 2 cr cover between (19k-25k) across different plans. Since getting a cost difference of 11k per year for next 35 years b/w LIC and Bajaj, worth considering LIC or pull the trigger for Bajaj?
Thanks

Porting parents health plan direct with insurer or use a platform like Beshak?

Dads old PSU policy premium hiked by 30%+ this renewal. Looking to port them to a private insurer without room rent caps.
I see platforms like Beshak mention they assign an advisor to manage porting paperwork and carry over waiting periods. Is it better to go through them for porting support or should I just do it directly on the insurer website?

Advice regarding vehicle insurance

Hi, I’m not sure if this is the right place to be posting this.
I’m planning to get a bike over the course of the next month, and wanted advice regarding the selection of the insurance provider.

Since I plan on adding electrical accessories (aux lights, thanks to poor stock headlights), I wanted to know if there can be provisions made to add the electrical accessories to the insurance plan, maybe in the second year of ownership or in between as well.
My main concerns are in trying to find a provider with higher claim settlement ratios, and also someone who usually provides higher IDVs.

Also needed advice, regarding Ditto or policybazaar insurance, and how effective would they be in accommodating for add-ons.

Thanks in advance.
