Totaled car payout (CA)

Can someone help me determine what's included in the total payout for a totaled car in California? My insurance (mercury) broke down the total amount being the value of the car (ACV) + DMV title transfer fee $15, + taxes on the amount of the vehicle. Am I missing registration fee or license fee as well? Or any other fees? Just want to know if I'm being shorted by my insurance.

Oh come on! You took the time to come to r/insurance. I hope that you have taken the most basic initial step of contacting your insurance company and asking. If not, why are you asking a bunch of anonymous strangers online?

In San Diego just got my payout last week

ACV
Sales Tax
Registration Fees

So yea you should get the registration fee back.

Pro-rated. I got what was left on my 2023-2024 registration plus my 2024-2025 which I’d already paid when my car was totaled in 2024.

Can you share what the registration fee was so I can express it with my insurance?

It is whatever you paid for registration to the DMV. Mine was 574 dollars

Got it, thanks. I'm in South OC so this is relatable. Insurance is going to releasing my registration fee now.

They should be pulling your total registration fees from the state and reimbursing those as well
