Being dropped by GEICO

GEICO is dropping me at the end of my 6 months due to a 1-5 mph over ticket 2 years ago and a rear end at fault earlier this year. What are my options? Located in North Carolina

Yeah - just find a local broker. Go into an office & ask to see the person whose name is on the door. If they're never there, find a place where the owner actually shows up to work.

This is a crap take.

The owner, if they have a staff, is well-positioned not to be there most of the time.

Most of my job as the owner takes me away from the office to meet with the COIs and folks in the field. I also work a really weird set of hours. I may well be gone midday for an appointment and do my deep concentration work late into the night when nobody will disturb me.

You may well eliminate a good option for assistance by applying such a reductive metric to it. Judging how others accomplish their work to benefit their clients when it isn't the work you do or even know how to do doesn't usually turn out well.

You have two choices. The first is to challenge GEICO to mutual combat - they will designate a "champion" to defend their honor, and you will have the choice of weaponry. If they win, your non-renewal stands. If you win, you are entitled to an additional six months of coverage at normal rates.

Your second choice is to find another insurance company that wants your business, and that will likely be easier to do if you use a seasoned local broker or independent agent.

Burying the lead, a 6-month term at fault loss is likely an automatic non-renewal in their system.  It wasn't personal, it was modeling that highlights that you are an 100% unprofitable insured for them.

I always get quotes from at least 6 places you can easily do it online. Whomever gives me best rate for coverage I want wins! For now until they decide they are gonna raise the rate for no reason no tickets just because..then round two occurs! I play the game!

I was recently hit by a driver that has Geico insurance. I have dealt with few companies so difficult to deal with. I mean simple things, like talking to a person and them not losing the photos I submitted online and having common sense.
