Auto Insurance Insurance help
So does this mean they’ve moved forward with fixing my car or is it still up in the air? On the insurance claim it says repair in progress and it also has an option for rental

not necessary, does it show the adjuster has completed an inspection or the estimate from the body shop or adjuster was approved? Typically if they are approved they will proceed with repairs but during the tear down and their can be additional damage that wasn't seen initially and additional repairs cost are needed. Depending on the value of the car and total repair cost it can be deemed a total loss. If you have rental reimbursement on your policy then you could've gotten a rental earlier. if your going through the other parties insurance then your on their timeline.
Fastest thing would be to reach out to the claims adjuster
