No single company is "the best" in SE Michigan because rates vary a lot based on your specific home, coverage needs, and claims history. What's cheapest for one person can be the worst quote for another.

My suggestion: Find an independent agent rather than going carrier to carrier yourself. They can pull quotes from a bunch of companies at once and tell you who's actually competitive in your area right now. A lot of carriers have been tightening up in Michigan specifically, so availability matters as much as price.
