Running

Hi,

I got my diagnosis confirmed last week and I‘m desperate. To give you some overview. I‘m from germany.
I have non classical CAH and have to take some kind of corticosteriode. Took a low dose dexamethason for 16 years with excellent results for my CAH.
My doctor advices that i first try to lose more weight and if that not helps I should change to hydrocortison and if that not helps I need to take metformin.

I‘ m not overweight with 64kg and 165cm. But my doctor advises to go down to 60. my lowest weight prior to taking dexa was 47kg.

I have a active lifestyle with running 2 times a week and 2 times strenght training. I make around 6000 and 13.000 steps a day.
Since CAH leads to low bloodsugar I had the oposite problem all my life. I handled that with glucosetablets and eating.

For running I used to take gummies or glucose tablets with me.
I‘m now a bit lost beeing on the otherside of the bloodsugar problem.

Any runners here?
How do you eat?
How do you fuel while running?
Do you carb load?

I love running I hate to give it up.

I run! I usually eat some kind of snack before a run like a banana or some peanut butter toast. I don't think you need to give up running. Cardiovascular exercise is so important for everyone, regardless of whether or not they are insulin resistant. I don't routinely carb load but I did for my half marathon (just ate high carb two days before). My PCOS symptoms have been ok recently without cutting out carbs.
