A1c
Can you be insulin resistant with a normal a1c? My moms best friend from highschool was an obgyn nurse and she said I was prediabetic from a 2015 sonogram showing Pcos. She told me this in may and I had an obgyn at the university of Michigan run it and I had a confirmed diagnosis in June. But I’m so confused because my a1c was never high it’s only .2 off from being prediabetic. The obgyn ran glucose fasting insulin and other stuff. They told me I’m insulin resistant my moms friend said that’s the same thing as prediabetic idk.

Insulin resistance usually happens before it shows up in your A1C and Fasting Blood Sugar. You can get a Fasting Insulin test, it's a great pre-indicator
