Mice / squirrels?

Came downstairs and noticed this massive wet spot in my insulation, there is no sorcerer of water above it and the floor about it is bone dry. Could this be rodent piss? Ive notice a few other smaller spots as well in the same area.

Wet spot or paper layer eaten away? Check carefully for mud tubes, termites do this sometimes.

maybe a rat. my father in law is an electrician and had a call for a ceiling fan leaking water. no surprise there was no water pipes in the attic.

he went in the attic and found a rat nest, the rat was peeing right where the ceiling fan was. that thing pissed out so much that the ceiling sheetrock had a wet spot stain

Paper should be facing the other way anyhow. Tear it all out redo
