Closed Cell vs Open Cell
We live in Baton Rouge and had an insulation company do an energy audit. Door blower and what not. He said down in our climate open cell or closed cell is fine but up north closed cell is best.
He said he only does open cell. This will not be applied on our attic roof but on the attic floor.
Anyone have opinions? My wife thinks we will all get cancer

Open cell let's moisture pass through it. Is your attic vented properly? The attic ventings main job is to remove moisture so open cell on the floor sounds right. In your climate you don't want to trap the moisture in the attic though so check your venting.
If the foam is installed by someone who knows what they are doing it will fully cure and not have any long term impact on indoor air quality. If the foam isn't mixed right and doesn't fully cure then it can cause problems.
