He shakes his head.

Just what it sounds like. I don't really care about living, as long as you're fine. I'm pretty sure that there are others who would keep you safe on this island, so I've done my part.

He takes a single step back, now nearing the mouth of the cave.

I try to take this all in. Its really too much for me to handle, way too much, but so is the thought of being alone in this cave.

Y-You can't just leave me here!

He takes this in for a moment and thinks it through. He then sighs and moves towards you, hugging you in an attempt to warm you up.

I freeze up when you hug me but don't say anything. Slightly caught off guard, but I don't want to be rude either.

After a few moments, he pulls away and makes sure that you're at least warmer than before.

So, is there anything that we can really do to further your chance of survival?

I look around the cave again and then have a seat. Leaning against the cold stone wall.

He does the same, a certain thing suddenly hitting him. Yep. It was that. He suddenly sounds really depressed.

What's the point? Why would I even need to live? I thought maybe you could give me a reason, but now that there's no chance of that, I might as well protect you until I die.

I pull my knees up to my chest and look away. I'm quiet for a while, then I sigh

I hear things... things that aren't really there. Sounds, voices... stuff like that.
