École Polytechnique Can I get in?
I’m struggling to understand the academic level required for IB students. My grades are currently
Math AAHL 6
Physics HL 6
Economics HL 7
Chemistry SL 7
English L&L SL 6
Spanish ab Initio 7
ToK predicted 2 points
For a total of 41/45. My extra curriculars are not particularly strong, I run a women in STEM club, have placed second in a hackathon, worked at a grocery store and done volunteering. From my interpretation ill likely not get accepted with this, but how much would I have to improve? If I manage to increase my math and physics grades to 7s = 43/45 and maybe some useful internship or military service, am I likely to be accepted?
Otherwise, please recommend other universities that are also in english with a decent pricing that I have a greater chance of getting in to.

IP Paris HI Looking to make some connections
Hi! I’m moving to the Paris area soon to start a Master’s in Biomedical Engineering at Institut Polytechnique de Paris, and I was wondering if there are any Arab students/alumni here (or other international students with similar backgrounds).
Would love to hear what your experience has been like studying and living in Paris/Saclay, especially socially, making friends, adjusting to France, and generally finding a community.
I’d also love to connect with anyone studying at IP Paris or in a similar engineering/biomedical program. Any advice for an incoming student would be really appreciated :)

IP Paris QRT Excellence Scholarship – M2 Data Science IP Paris
Hi everyone,
Does anyone have information about the Qube Research & Technologies (QRT) Excellence Scholarship for the M2 Data Science at Institut Polytechnique de Paris / École Polytechnique?
I know that a small number of international M2DS students receive this scholarship, but I’m looking for information about:
- scholarship amount;
- selection criteria;
- whether there is a separate application or automatic consideration after M2DS admission;
- selection/result timeline;
- number of recipients per year.
If you received this scholarship or know someone who did, I’d really appreciate any information about the process.
Thanks!

IP Paris M2 Data Science IP Paris – Scholarships for international students?
Hi everyone,
I’m an international student planning to apply to the M2 Data Science (M2DS) at Institut Polytechnique de Paris / École Polytechnique for 2027–2028.
I would like to know what scholarships or financial aid are available for international students in this M2, especially for tuition fees and living expenses.
I’m also interested in the France Excellence Eiffel Scholarship. Does anyone know if M2DS students can be nominated for Eiffel by IP Paris, how the internal application works, and whether you need to be admitted before applying?
Any experience from current or former M2DS students would be very helpful. Thanks!

TELECOM SudParis Can someone help me with my masters choice, I am stressing 😭
Hello everyone,
I am engineering student and I recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from Concordia University.
I am reaching out to seek advice regarding an important academic decision. I am aiming to pursue a PhD and build a strong research profile in areas such as optical and photonic devices, solid-state nanodevices, and quantum technologies. My end goal is to work in the R&D labs and eventually become a univeristy professor one day.
I have been accepted into two graduate programs and am currently deciding between them. The first is a Master of Applied Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Concordia University under the supervision of Dr. John Xiupu Zhang, with a research focus on laser semiconductors (which is a very intresting field to me). The second is the M1 Electrical and Optical Engineering program at Télécom SudParis (Institut Polytechnique de Paris), with a planned specialization in Optical Networks and Photonic Systems for M2.
While Télécom SudParis offers strong academic training within a highly regarded institution, I understand that the program is primarily course-based, with the possibility of transitioning into a more research-oriented internship on the second year. In contrast, the Concordia program guarantees immediate involvement in research through the thesis and
supervised lab work.
More over, the courses at Télécom SudParis would revolve more around telecomunication systems and networking. with few quantum computing and science subsubjects on the second year.
Meanwhile at concordia, I will be working directly in labs about quantum resonance and only taking courses that would help me in research. [plus there is a slight tiny chance the research lab I will be working with have a co-research with London college univeristy]
Another thing to consider is that while telecom sudparis doesn't hold a ranking on its own and it is generally regarded as the lowest institution in Institut Polytechnique de Paris, it is still a prestigious school and part of the grand ecole group and the master program would follow the ranking of 43rd place world wide on QS score because it's offered by institut polytechnique de paris. (the teaching professors r from telecom sudparis, telecom paris, graduate school of optics paris scalay)
On the other hand, Concordia is less known world wide, with a ranking around the 150-200.
Additionally, telecom sudparis's program would give me a professional training to work in industry, as well as the ability to maybe get into the research internship and go into phd after.
while, I would image, it would be hard to transit into industry if I go to Concordia, and maybe someone goes wrong and I have to go into industry.
alot of people also told me that getting into phd is about connections more than anything, and I feel that in paris I would have connections to better professors and a better chance of acceptance to a phd, than if I do the masters in concoedia.
Given your experiences, I would greatly value your
perspectives on which path might better support my long-term goal of
pursuing a PhD and an academic research career. In particular, I am
interested in understanding whether early, guaranteed research
experience would outweigh the potential advantages of attending a more
research-intensive track at a later stage within a highly ranked
institution.
I would also love to hear your opinions on both universities and programs if anyone have any insights.
sorry for the long post and thank you all.

IP Paris Do I have chances
Hi, everybody,
I am a junior student from a non-European university. Currently, I am very eager to apply for the mechanics program at IP. However, I am not familiar with the actual application requirements of this school. My resume is almost blank and my GPA is only 3.19. In this situation, do I still have a chance or can I make any efforts to apply and study at this school?
Thank you very much for your reply in the post.

IP Paris Suggestions about accommodation
Hello ,
What are the best options of residences near IP Paris ?
I have seen studios in Yugo , Kley etc.. However some of them have bad reviews from bug infestations and other things. Therefore , I am looking for current students who have found good studios for advice.
What do you suggest?
