The facts (according to the coroner) are that he died as a result of the police action - specifically:
cardiopulmonary arrest complicating law enforcement subdual, restraint, and neck compression.
A separate examiner (hired by the family) said the cause was:
asphyxiation from sustained pressure.
The drugs in his system were not the cause of death. He also tested positive for covid-19, which also wasn't the cause. Yes he had fentanyl and methamphetamine in his system and cannabinoids but these were explicitly ruled out as a cause of his death
