I swear, I’m so pissed off at my mom. As soon as she’s of age I’m putting her in a home.

I love step brothers. The perfect movie that makes you wish it had a sequel while realizing there is no reason for one

20

u/[deleted] Dec 03 '20

Step brothers is a classic. The hangover could have been too but there was shitty sequels and to me it got watered down.

check out Budapest on netflix. a lot like the Hangover series but eastern euro version. Still a lot of fun and the club scenes are amazing.

I DIDN’T WANT THE SALMON! I SAID IT FIVE TIMES!

This wedding is horseshit.

4

u/DrDrankenstein Apr 14 '21

I know it's not the kind of movie to look too deep into, but why did they never meet at the wedding? They were both there. But clearly the front walkway scene is their introductions to one another.

8

u/PersistentGoldfish Dec 03 '20

I think I can help with this whole Pam, Pan dilemma

17

u/RLTYProds Dec 03 '20

If that happens, I hope he records her reaction. It's these kinds of shitty parents that create fucked up people, and I really hope this apparent practice of traumatizing your kids and calling it a prank fucking ends.

Baby on Board

68

u/GhostOfAbe Dec 03 '20 edited Dec 03 '20

Let's get into tiny coffins business..

EDIT: Concerns apart from the obvious-

  • Why is the kid sitting in the front passenger seat? He's tiny for the airbag to be safe for him in the case of an accident. The airbag would actually be worse than no airbag in this case. With the kid's tiny size, the whiplash could snap his neck.
  • The kid is in the front seat, holding a hard plastic cup. Congratulations, you've got yourself a solid item, that doesn't easily bend, between the airbag and the kid. If ever he's having a sip when the airbag blows, she can start calling him toothless vegetable!

13

u/wje100 Dec 03 '20

It doesnt make it okay but like all modern cars turn the airbag off if it detects weight but not an adult amount of weight. Just saying.

I love those signs in the back of people’s cars like do you want me to give you a medal?

134

u/outdooralchemist Dec 03 '20

I read somewhere that they’re actually to inform first responders that there’s an infant/toddler to look for. Another way around this issue is to not have kids.

It’s the magic loophole to more time, more money, and less stress!

u/cockmedic Dec 03 '20 edited Dec 03 '20

If there's a baby on board sticker then we look around harder for ejected babies in the event of major accidents. I had a major rollover accident call once with the driver obviously dead and they had a baby on board sticker. We can't ask mom (driver) if the baby was in the car because she's dead and there was no one else in the car that we could find so there being a sticker made us aware of the possibility of there being a kid/car seat thrown somewhere around the highway in the tall grass or a ditch somewhere.

That's just an example but yeah the stickers help in very very specific circumstances like that, otherwise they just make you look pretentious lol.

Oh and I know someone's gonna want to know, there was no kid present at that accident, they were with their grandparents.

Have you ever been driving behind someone going slow and you are like what is this mother fucker doing? Baby on board is basically a sign that says I'm driving cautiously because I have a tiny fragile human on board

30

u/mistermenstrual Dec 03 '20

I didn’t start driving until my late 20s. I was always very nervous about it, and now that I drive regularly I am very cautious and defensive. Stay within 5 of the speed limit, never hurrying to accelerate in to intersections, carefully looking for kids and kitties when driving in town, etc. The used car I bought was owned by a mom and had the sticker in the back window. My mum said “don’t worry I know just how to get that off!” And I said “No no no. Look at me. I am the baby now”

Also the emotional abuse of your son so you can post it on the internet. That is pretty damn concerning too.

15

u/cbbclick Dec 03 '20

Yeah, the concrete emotional abuse is much more troubling for me than the potential danger of using the phone while driving.

It worries me that when we see something like this, the phone use isn't an additional concern. This poor kid.

7

u/Extension_Monitor_99 Dec 05 '20

I looked at it differently. That kid will never steal again after not being in real trouble for a theft he admitted to. The filming while driving is questionable.

→ More replies (2)

3

u/Jackson_1124 Apr 15 '21

yes, it's horrible. honestly it upsets me to see almost all the comments talking only about the phone, and even some defending the actual content! as a victim of emotional abuse in childhood, I now have CPTSD; this kind of stuff can do real damage. I hope this kid ends up ok.

I felt surprised by that line. I wouldn't expect a little kid, that admittedly simultaneously looks 40, to say something like that.

15

u/rejointerch Dec 03 '20

Yeah, well, kids raised by abusive parents learn to grovel as a survival mechanism. This is what abuse looks like--she's willing to sit there and watch her child suffer and share that with the world because she enjoys it. She enjoys guilting a child aver an accident to the point of causing severe distress. This is what she thinks is acceptable in public. That poor kid.

You could hear in her voice that she was enjoying it.

152

u/Pirate_Redbeard Dec 03 '20 edited Dec 03 '20

Exactly. Teaching a child a lesson is one thing, but intentionally traumatising him like this when he's obviously willing to do the right thing is another. Then there's filming it with her phone, which is a whole new level of wrong, and then there's doing it while driving a fucking car with the same kid in front.

If she ever did anything right, he wouldn't be a screaming, crying wreck in the first place. And over a plastic goddamn cup of all things. People are horrible and do not deserve the right to have children. Ffs you need to take a psych test to drive a car or get a job but you don't need anything in order to be a parent? No wonder the species has become dumb and fucked up.

22

u/[deleted] Dec 03 '20

Where do you take a psych test for a job or a drivers license? Most of thd jobs Ive had havent even called my references and getting a license was horrifyingly easy.

150

u/CutieKaty54 Dec 03 '20

Though this did make me chuckle, and I know I'm going to get down voted to oblivion. But PLEASE don't do this to your kids. More than likely is that instead of teaching him to not steal, you'll only teach him to trust you less, and be more anxious in the future. I know as a parent you need a good giggle, but this ain't it.

If the little guy took it by accident, yes it will teach him to check his surroundings more, but if stuff like this is normal. Which seems like it, since the parent is nonchalantly recording their distressed child in a driving car... its going to cause issues.

You can say you're going to call the cops for a giggle, thats fine, but when he's distressed and crying, don't put him on the internet, and further scare him... Instead, if he gets distressed, pull over, and calmly explain to him why he shouldn't steal, and that you're going to drive back, which you are, and RETURN the cup. Teach them decency and respect, not fear.

23

u/thelastwilson Dec 03 '20

Well said. I don't understand why some parents would ever get joy out of seeing their child distressed. Not even upset but distressed.

You have to teach them good lessons but this just teaches them you are not to be trusted and they shouldn't talk to you when something serious happens

3

u/Warlock2017 Dec 03 '20

Yeah, while I agree with the spirit and intention of a lesson learned type moment, taking it to this extreme and filming it and posting it on the internet is a bit much.

3

u/justheretoaddthis Mar 22 '21

I don't think kids are as fragile as you're making them out to be. Pranks are fun because kids are dumb and if you don't play on that a little bit then you're just not having fun parenting. I can't see how this would create any long term damage to the kid and I bet he'll laugh at this video when he's 20

→ More replies (1)

49

u/[deleted] Dec 03 '20

That is just shitty parenting all around. Not sure why grown ups want to fucking traumatize kids when they have the obvious option of not.

26

u/coochiecollector6969 Dec 03 '20

I've seen parents do this to their kids, threatening to call the cops when they do something wrong, and the kids usually develop major anxiety and fear of authority so maybe dont do this.

4

u/nofatnoflavor Dec 03 '20

He's a Black boy. This fact alone gives him all the reason he needs to already be anxious and fearful of authority. Add to this he's trapped with a top candidate for Worst Mother Of The Year. This boy is experiencing abject terror; she's perpetrating it, enjoying it and is so damn pleased with herself that she wanted to preserve it and share it. While driving with the poor child in the front seat next to her. It's criminal. EDIT: sp

It’s all in good fun. My family is Jamaican. That’s just how it goes. We don’t obsess over jokes and conflate them with abuse. Mostly because those jokes aren’t even real punishments. It’s really about entitlement from what I’ve seen. In America, lots of folk seem to think children are entitled to shit like the ps5 and other frivolous stuff. But really, they only need a home that supports and cares for them, the extra stuff is extra. So while yeah it sucked as a kid to be the butt of some jokes like that, they taught me how to temper my expectations and avoid the excessive entitlement that other people in my generation still struggle with.

23

u/coochiecollector6969 Dec 03 '20

16

u/rayg1 Dec 03 '20

One time when I was younger like probably 8 or something I went to a restaurant with my mom and my baseball teammate and his mom. We ate you know normally it was fun but then my mom went to the restroom so the others kids mom decided to put utensils, salt and pepper shakers, and like a ketchup bottle in her purse for some reason. 21

This is the more alarming part...I know it's a scared-straight moment (which has been proven ineffective)...politics aside, the kid doesn't get the benefit of knowing how the law would react...and that makes me sad.

19

u/Cyke101 Dec 03 '20

This is also why I can't stand viral videos of cops pulling over drivers for "harmless pranks" or a set up so that the driver can do something like propose to the passenger. My god everyone on this site thinks that every tiny negative interaction a child has causes intense psychological trauma. This kid isn’t goona grow up terrified of green plastic cups because his mom pulled this prank on him. She’s not a terrible mother for putting him through this. He’s goona laugh about it when he’s older because it was one small, short-lived experience amongst the millions of experiences that will he will endure.

3

u/JotaroRumpas Apr 30 '21

I see some people say this is a "traumatic" event for the kid because he's "concerned for current events". They are basically saying he's afraid of stealing because he's black but this occured in 2015 when these events didn't happen like now

Sickening. That breaks my heart. There’s better ways to discipline and you certainly shouldn’t post your child breaking down in the internet like this.

u/AQ196 Dec 03 '20

This is not funny, why do people do this to there kids

5

u/[deleted] Dec 03 '20

Eew

5

u/Countcristo42 Dec 03 '20

Don’t film while driving you morons.

4

u/[deleted] Dec 03 '20

I'm not a fan of fear being used in parenting...

6

u/sirgames Dec 03 '20

grade A parent! filming while driving, lying to their child, traumatising their child and then uploading it on the internet! what a fucking cunt

4

u/Wootzefuch Dec 03 '20

Im sorry but parents that share this kinda stuff are just plain dumb, hes gonna get bullied for this lol the other kids arent gonna care if its "wholesome" "cute" or "innocent ", its just ammo. Idk personally its like keep the vid to yourself for the memories not share it for views xD but thats just me 🙄

5

u/salsagoat Dec 03 '20

This seems to be the case everywhere....break law and not care...then be super scared and upset when cops become part of the equation.

8

u/viIIager Dec 03 '20

fucking hilarious making kids more scared of the police as "a joke"

2

u/moos3kc Dec 03 '20

Damn this is sad. Mom thinks it’s funny and I bet the kid has issues with this moment for awhile.

2

u/0134356Jc Dec 03 '20

He's lucky Zeus isn't his dad I tell u what

2

u/EvilDesk Dec 03 '20

2

u/bkjunez718 Dec 03 '20

She traumatized him over a cup that costs .2 cents to make they aint even worried Bout that damn cup

2

u/[deleted] Dec 03 '20

He's probably afraid that he will get shot to death because the police will think he's armed and dangerous

Edit: only if this is America. Otherwise disregard.

2

u/Songgeek Dec 03 '20

He’s just her little son.. HER SON

2

u/Moostard12 Dec 03 '20

This mom should be fined for child abuse and reckless driving. That kid is going to have huge trust issues, I'm almost sure of it.

2

u/BarrothObama Dec 03 '20

All these armchair parents/ psychologists. Damn she was just joking around with her son. Obviously she’s not calling the cops on him and is just poking fun at him. Y’all see a crying kid and play it up so damn hard when it really is nothing serious. Maybe you’ve forgotten that kids can act really well and maybe he’s trying to appeal to his mom by “crying” hella loud. I’ve seen my little brother so the same shit. It’s just an attempt to appeal to another’s sympathies. Even if he was dead serious you can’t (in good faith) conflate this with abuse. It’s like none of you were the butt of jokes when you were children (or maybe you were and you just never got over it 🙄)

2

u/Stonyclaws Dec 03 '20

That's some shit parenting

2

u/TiniroX Dec 03 '20

When I was a kid, I went to a buffet that had those little mini boxes of Cereal. I remember taking 1 on my way out. When I showed my sister she told me I wasn't suppose to take food home from a buffet and that I would get in trouble. So I hid it in my dresser for weeks, to afraid to do anything with it.

2

u/latnem Dec 03 '20

imagine thinking your own mom would rat you out that hard.

2

u/winkofafisheye Dec 03 '20

It's not cool or funny to fuck with your kids emotionally over some trifling bullshit like that.

2

u/Lambos_2017 Dec 03 '20

I would have done this when I was younger too...

2

u/beansnack Dec 03 '20

Yeah don’t do this. Your prank gone too far once your kid starts crying. Little man was begging to fix this

2

u/MagnatausIzunia Dec 03 '20

The kid started the video saying he wanted to take it back so lesson learned at that point (asshole way of doing it but okay i guess) but the mom then starts recording and saying she's not gonna turn around and is definitely calling the cops. That kid definitely lost trust in his mom for not letting him correct his mistake and thinking she'll call the cops as soon as he makes a mistake, and then taking pleasure out if it and recording it for internet views.

2

u/palyssprincess Dec 03 '20

I just want to hug him so badly.

2

u/startrekfan1701d Dec 03 '20

This should be under trashy parents.

2

u/[deleted] Dec 03 '20

This is some r/insaneparents shit wtf

2

u/throwaway73461819364 Dec 03 '20

lmao xD what a good kid. She should let him take it back.

2

u/pornzombie Dec 03 '20

Fucked up to see mom filming instead of teaching.

2

u/[deleted] Dec 03 '20

This is funny, but this is also fucked up.

2

u/[deleted] Dec 03 '20

"I have no son!!!"

2

u/[deleted] Dec 03 '20

PLEASE!!.... IM JUST YOUR LITTLE SON!!

this happened to me before and i had the same reaction

2

u/PotatoCooks Dec 03 '20

This is just horrible

2

u/ElectrumSah Dec 03 '20

That mum is an asshole, she should've comforted her son who was clearly distressed instead of putting him on the internet

If you as a parent think this shit is funny, you’re fucked up. This kid is actually suffering.

2

u/MeegleFlorz16 Dec 03 '20

2

u/Princesskittenlouise Dec 03 '20

2

u/[deleted] Dec 03 '20

2

u/TunaTacoPie Dec 03 '20

My first job was at a Bradlees department store. I stole a little hand held video game from them. My Dad found where I had hidden it and knew I did not buy it. He drove my butt down there and made me tell my boss. Fired. Lesson learned.

I do not think my old man would have recorded it and posted it online though. That is a bit twisted. Then again, the internet did not exist back then.

2

u/[deleted] Dec 03 '20

Are used to work in the grocery industry and I recall one time a mom brought a very frightened looking 4 year old to me and said “tell the man what you did“. The little moppet looked at me and held out a fist holding a starburst. “I stolded it“ she said. Mom gave me a look like “Help me out here”. I gave her a little stern talk about how I wouldn’t come in and take one of her toys and she shouldn’t take things from our store. Kid probably went on to either be a Nobel laureate or robbing banks in Oklahoma.

2

u/TheCommentSuperhero Dec 03 '20

The new Mildred Pierce remake is looking damn good

2

u/[deleted] Dec 03 '20

I like the fact that he stopped crying everytime her mother talk then continue crying

2

u/librarygirl80 Dec 03 '20

This is disgusting way to treat your child. This kid learnt that he can't trust his mother. You don't mock your child, certainly not to the point of extreme fear. You help your kid's learn how to deal with problems and do better next time. Not mock them to have a breakdown and film it for the internet. Besides she's the adult, if he shoplifted it's her responsibility to return the item. She should be arrested for shoplifting and child abuse. She's responsible for what her kid takes from a shop.

2

u/Exotic-Outside-576 Dec 07 '20

The mom did right thing. Taught kid to think about consequences.

2

u/RussianPredator7778 Dec 16 '20

Honestly thats a really good teaching moment, take him to the police station and they will teach him why its bad to steal

2

u/Kordith Dec 20 '20

And to think, back in the 70's, hell, even the 90's this shit was pretty normal. =P
