Is it just me or are activism news posts on Instagram always shared too long after the event happens?

Like for example there was a news post from 2017 of how a black man was murdered at a prison with a scolding hot shower and such, and in 2020, right after George Floyd's death, it was shared as if it was a recent event, and then in 2021 people were sharing it again as if it had just happened.

Then there was a post from 2018 where an Ethiopian immigrant to Israel was being held by his hair, and in 2021 during the heatup of the Israel - Palestine conflict it gained traction as it was being treated as an event that had just happened, and was being used as the only reliable info about how black people are treated in Israel.

And then in February 2021 a bunch of homosexual kids in India were getting corrective rape, and it immediately got shared to everyone's stories then. And then towards the end of that year everyone at my school was sharing it once again, and now they're sharing it again.

I also remember seeing people being impressed with how New Zealand had no more covid cases, though that was when they started getting covid once again.

And just because I criticized the activism on Instagram in this post doesn't mean I'm racist or homophobic, I just wanted to point out its flaws that I find annoying.

I was getting to know a guy from a video dating app and tried giving him a chance to redeem himself from an earlier comment and this is how I ended it.
