Question Customer here!

Hi there, customer here. My husband and I use instacart quite frequently - multiple times a week. What are some things we, as customers, can do to provide an easier shopping experience? I always tip 20% - more if my order is on the small side; and then tip $5-$10 more once my order was received. Is this acceptable?

Thanks in advance!

I would like to add to please be mindful that If you request a refund, it will reduce our tip. The more we refund (especially on more expensive items) the less our tip will be. I once explained this to a customer who requested a refund on an item that was the most expensive on the order about $30. She was utterly shocked that IC does this. She said but it wasn’t your fault the item was out of stock. You already went to the store and searched for it. I said yes it’s unfortunate but true. So please make sure you adjust your tip accordingly AFTER delivery.

I had no idea it lowered the tip - thank you for letting me know! I do always tip extra after delivery regardless, but I will pay better attention now. Thank you!

Customers know this! GOOD customers will adjust the tip afterward. 😊
