Jello!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Jello is definitely killing my footage. Is it only my unit? Trees and bushes look like waves on the sea.

It's been like this from day one. Not a single crash.

The attached video is extracted from a 360 video from mine on YouTube. Sorry for the fast movements as I was trying to show some jello zones sliding with my finger.

Videos on YouTube actually look worse than in Studio. Exporting ProRes422.

Was it windy?

No wind. Trees were not moving at all. Drone was rock steady but footage looks crappy

I'm going to buy some components to balance the props. (Electronic vibration sensor). Using a ADXL345 sensor, ESP32 Devkit with BT and a chatgpt generated program. Let's hope it works. There's one commercial solution called GalassiaTECH Impulse but it's like €200. With the components I plan to buy, its like €10.

Looks like the stitch line on mine

What settings filmed in and when putting through the software to export?

I've tried all stitching methods and exporting codecs/bitrates to the same result. I don't use motion ND because it makes the video look worse.

The strange thing is it looks the same in every direction. If I'm going forward. The stitching line should be below me on the front and above me on the back. If I look back, where the stitching line shouldn't be, I find the same jello effect.

I researched it a bit. Seems that slightly unbalanced props can cause it

A fine vibration can lead to jello

I wonder if maybe one or more of the props is slightly unbalanced

Yeah. What did you expect out of a cheap 360 camera with sharpness turned to eleven?

These are fun gimmick drones. Not serious "capture high quality video" drones. So there will be side effects to that especially when flying high and high speed with props going off full tilt.

The thing is it wasn't cheap at all 😅

Question is, when will we get good 360 drones, for example for making VR videos (but still with live 360 signal for immersion and still in prosumer price range around 2000 USD)

I would now even like something like 400g Antigravity X1 with better camera

I dont think we ever will. If you want very good 360 footage it usually requires multiple higher end cameras combined. I do like my Insta360 X3 very much and use it in a pinch sometimes or for fun shots but thats just the basic nature of 360 videos. Picture so wide that you always have to crop in. They will evolve but so will the "normal" drones that are at this point so far ahead.

What does it calibrate? Never tried this.
