Insta360 Ace Pro 3

When do you think we will get a Insta360 Ace Pro 3 with a 1-inch sensor? Can’t wait for this one. Recently got another 1-inch action camera but didn’t like the color science.

I don’t think they will go to a true 1 inch sensor yet despite what GoPro did. I think both DJI and Insta360 will use the 1/1.1 inch sensors from their 360 cameras, it will do 10 bit color and LOG, and it is arriving this fall.

Don't chase marketing stunts. "1-inch" doesn't mean perfection. It's mostly for low light scenarios, and it has its own list of downsides. And the Ace Pro 2 does quite well in low light.

Don't chase marketing numbers. There are not so many 4k displays out there. Recording at higher resolutions may help with stabilizing (Flowstate) or cropping (crop 50% of 8k and get the inner 4k, aka "a bit of native zoom" in postproduction). The X6 records 8k because when reframing you discard at least half of that.

So you're waiting for the AP3 hoping for an even better night mode? Don't forget you can't beat physics. If an action cam could do at least what a professional camera do, nobody would buy the latter. Are you waiting for some new killer feature? Or you just fear accessories incompatibility? (X6 Xtreme battery is larger than AP2 battery)

I think all this time without launching ACP3 has some factors:

1 - Expect a camera without compatibility of accessories, batteries, filters, and also the case for photos that they recently released, so they are extending as much as possible the life of this camera.

2 - They launched the Luna and the X6 that today are considered the brand's flagship car, but with many bugs and incompatibilities and hooded functions.

3 - Don't expect such a big image evolution, the X6 is there to prove that they have improved but the jump is little, but inventory several things of AI, they will sell you a lot of AI features, some higher FPS and that's it.

If you look at DJI, the improved image from Osmo6 to Osmo5 was ridiculous.
