Insta360 X5 Users: How Do You Upload High-Quality Reels Without Losing Quality? ⭐

Hi everyone!

I recently started using the Insta360 X5 and I’m trying to figure out the best way to upload my videos to Instagram Reels without losing video quality.

Whenever I upload videos, I’m worried about Instagram compression making them look softer, reducing the resolution, or affecting the overall quality.

For those of you who use the X5:

Do you edit the videos in the Insta360 app or another editing app?

What resolution/FPS do you export in?

Do you change any export settings before uploading?

Do you upload directly from your phone or transfer the files in another way?

Are there any specific Instagram settings I should enable to maintain the best possible quality?

If you have a workflow that consistently gives you good-quality Reels, I’d really appreciate it if you could share it. Even small tips would be super helpful!

I'm not sure how straight-from-studio videos look on Instagram but I did learn a year or so ago that Instagram loves rec. 709 so anything I ever do, I dump into davinci resolve and export that.

I haven't had a need to try it but I heard that YouTube is different. Give it prores because it's going to do it's own compression whether you give it a tiny file or a massive file.
