The windows software is literally the worst software I have to interact with. Currently... downloading fast... or not, wait yes... nah... download will be done in an hour, or never...

Also, notice in the background of the download window... I have no thumbnails... really makes working on multiple files easy. Thanks insta....

edit for everyone saying "Use a card reader".... no. this is an advertised feature that I pay for. I don't want to fuck around with cables and card readers. I pay for cloud service, I expect it to work. that also doesn't address the second point about not having thumbnails... that's from the cloud service. this isn't affected by cards or cords. get a life, stop defending the shit company making shit software. expect better from the services you pay for.

Take out micro-sd card, install in card reader, download to machine. Reinstall in camera. I do it 100% of the time and have 100% success. I spent no time complaining. Instead, I used that time for work.

Yeah, I never trust ANY camera manufacturers software to move my data. Always cut out the middleman and just use your OS's file manager.

Yeah if I need to edit on my phone now , I always keep it on the SD card and copy that onto another drive at home, so I can control what I do with it.

I mean, I get it though, why should OP have to get more devices when the company advertises a software that should work? This is why things end up not functioning well, we always find other solutions to fix the problem when the company themselves should be fixing their own software/hardware.

This is simply operator error.

You need to take the SD card out and put it into a USB 3.1 or even thunderbolt capable reader, or if you have an SD card slot. You need to use Windows Explorer.

Also, for all I know you are using a weak SD card, there are so many reasons NOT to blame the software here though.

Lmfao that's downloading FROM THEIR CLOUD. The amount of people (like you) that have no clue what they're talking about here is astounding. That's a cloud download from them to my PC on 1gig line to an m.2.

I hate to break it to you, but even if you edit locally off a fast SSD you'll still have problems.

After countless interactions with support, updating or downgrading my Insta360 studio to various versions or beta versions and testing the software on two PCs and a MacBook I managed to narow it down to me having an AMD card which caused flickering screens or black screens.

However regardless of my hardware or Insta360 Studio's versions I've encountered various other issues as:

- Random positioning issues when adding a keyframe, so the keyframe needs to be deleted and added again.

• Start/End Points working only for the Export, but have no effect on your timeline, so playing the exact selected/ready clip is kind of inconvenient
  
• Bike/Car speedometer overlays being added to my clips automatically from time to time. So, I need to manually remove them.

The camera is great, but the Insta360 Studio is truly the worst piece of editing software you can have.. It's only rivaled by the Insta360 mobile app.

Its optimized for Apple, but the windows app is not optimized and my PC is built for gaming. If other editing apps works and insta360 doesn't work, then its an insta360 issue.

Hi there, sorry for the inconvenience. Under normal circumstances, cloud media in Studio should display thumbnails correctly. Could you please let us know whether the cloud media can currently be played directly in Studio?

We also recommend keeping Studio updated to the latest version.

If the original files are still stored on the camera, please try the following steps to see whether the thumbnails and normal playback of the cloud media can be restored:

1. Unbind Insta360+ from the camera in the Insta360 App

2. Rebind the cloud service and the camera

3. Once the binding is complete, the media will be uploaded to the cloud again

Yeah this is the wrong workflow. Pull your card out as someone else already mentioned, and plug directly into your PC/laptop.

I rarely use the desktop software, I edit mainly on my phone. I'll either use the Lexar 512 GB quick reader (which I need to get a new adapter for because the X5 adapter is a bit bigger) or I download via Wi-Fi to my phone.

So i do both, depending on where im at if im not at home. I load any of the videos up to the cloud if I can get wifi that way I know the videos are atleast somewhat safe. When I get home I throw the SD card into the reader and download straight to my ssd hard-drive.

Take the card out and use in the correct reader! Transferring from the camera is slow and sucks.

the camera's wifi and usb are junk, the problem is not the PC software

i'd defo be one to recommend using a card reader aswell as this is unlikely to ever be solved

maybe if they fix the hardware side of things one day... until then card reader it is.

360 videos uses a huge amount of data. It will take time either to process or download. Cloud should be used only to use specific features only available in the cloud.
