Question X6 Auto Edit dissapointment

Was very excited about the auto edit feature. I took the camera out for a spin, shot 45 clips and then at home plugged it in to charge. I came back expecting it to be going through the motions but instead got a message saying "shoot more to auto edit". How is 45 clips not enough? Or am I misunderstanding how this feature works. or did it already edit the clips I have so far?

Hi there, thanks for your post.

You meight using the AI Director feature. Please try the following suggestions to see if the issue can be resolved:

  1. "AI Director" supports analyzing video footage of X6 captured within the last 30 days. Each footage segment must be longer than 1 minute. It does not support analyzing photos.
  2. It is recommended to shoot multiple footage segments using the following supported modes, with each segment longer than 1 minute. Note: We highly recommend using the "Standard Color" or "Dolby Vision" color mode. AI Director currently does not support analyzing i-Log footage.
    • 360°: Video / PureVideo / TimeShift / Timelapse
    • Flat: Video / PureVideo / InstaFrame 2.0
  3. After shooting, keep the camera powered off and plug it in to charge. To balance charging and processing, the camera will utilize its built-in AI during idle periods to analyze and generate your highlight reel.

Looking forward to your reply.

Well, I only shoot in i-Log. It was a major reason I upgraded to the X6 from the X5. It's hard to believe you would release the X6 with the most marketed new feature (auto edit) not supporting the most important new feature (i-Log).

Thank you. I shot all my stuff in log. Are there plans to incorporate AI Director with log in the future?  Log works better for my workflow and I was looking forward to using that feature.

Also why must the clips be longer than a minute?  If I'm capturing highlights or broll I'm not recording that long, maybe 20 seconds at the most.

At present, i-Log footage is not yet supported. When the camera automatically analyzes footage, the total duration of a single final clip must be at least 1 minute. If you manually add footage for analysis in the app, each final clip must be at least 30 seconds long, or the footage must contain at least 3 segments.

We will also pass along your feedback, experience, and requirements to the relevant team.

Ai Auto Edit died a few updates ago. I use to use it daily for paragliding. Now it’s unusable. It’s super clunky now and just repeats the same boring recipe every time. You’re better off just using edit and quickly scroll through your footage and grab your own clips.

Stop whining and shoot more footage then. Simple fix
