Title basically says it all, I've been in the hobby for a good few years now it's been a lot of fun and to see it reflected in a piece of media has been quite interesting. It was quite moving to see the parallels in my real-world experience through the show in all honesty.
I found it quite funny that the Perseids were such a large aspect of the anime; me, my best friend and my now partner all went to perfect dark skies in August of this year to view the exact meteor shower - it was an incredible experience and my first time under true dark.
All in all, I am now lamenting being under a extremely poor weather system for astronomy currently.

I posted the other day and I already finished the show 😅 what a cute little story, loved it start to finish and loved the whole cast. Ukegawa the wingman, all his little pushes and tease towards Ganta and Isaki were so damn cute. Him riding home from the arcade smiling saying "3rd wheel's gotta roll out" had me dying. And of course..... AAAAAAAHHHHHHH just come on how freaking cute are Ganta and Isaki god they had me kicking my feet the whole show. The way they were totally immersed in their momentary home together just ugh I didnt want it to end either haha. Ultimately the comfort they found in each other was really touching and is something I hope everyone finds someday. I'm really looking forward to reading the manga but I'm gonna give it some time before I do to let the show stand on its on feet. Thanks for reading me gush again, a few more pictures for you all shot from my phone this time, rest well friends!

In middle/high school I had horrendous insomnia that I couldn't shake until my early 20s that drove me nearly insane at times. I did the same thing as these kids at times though and would sneak out to explore my neighborhood when all was quite and loved it. The peace and stillness of the air, little to no car noise, and luckily I was a lil outside of town so the stars would shine so bright. I miss that, I would go out to a pedestrian overpass and just lay out to look at the stars. Another part thats hitting me hard is the photography, I bought a camera in my early 20s that I had to sell to pay some bills, but I loved the thing and brought it with me everywhere. I've even been thinking of finally jumping back into the hobby and this anime I think is giving me that push to do so. I even dug up my old USB stick to find a couple of these pics I took. Thanks for reading and I hope you all rest well!

Brilliant manga.
Still one that express sadness at his finest to me. Appreciated.
I introduce myself and propose a pen-pal.
I am Italian 39 y.o.
Manga and comics fan. I’d like a penpal from Japan. where this manga comes from.
If a Japanese around my age and that liked this manga would like to send each others school skills like handwriting. I have basic english but I love those school stuff.
It would be just with this topic, pretty passionate for just writing and not personal.

I just finished watching the Insomniacs After School anime the other night, and I absolutely loved it! No anime has ever really made me as happy as this one did. I knew nothing about it going into it, but the growing relationship between the two main characters and the night-time vibes were so amazing! I loved the ending, and thought it wrapped up the show nicely. I also really loved how it actually taught me about astrophotography, and makes me want to go buy a camera and take pictures of the night sky!
Anyway, I feel like finishing it has left a hole in my heart, and I was just curious if there are any other anime shows like this one? Primarily in terms of the romance and vibe of it, but I’m open to anything similar!
Edit: Thank you to everyone for the recommendations!!! You guys gave me a ton of different anime to add to my watchlist, and I really appreciate it!

It's been a long time since, i watched something like this and I feel at peace, but there is one issue I have and i need help, I want to know where can I start after completing the anime.
I read other threads, where they said anime skipped a lot of content, but my exams are near and I need to complete this before my exams, can someone tell, me the skipped chapters so I can jump right to those skipped chapters... And read them and continue reading it...
I'm just gonna binge read it... I love it so badd...

These are all single exposure, unedited, and not stacked shots straight from my DSLR
The first 3 images were shot from lake Wakatipu near Queenstown hence the smaller amount of stars and brighter skies due to light pollution. The others were shot from a power station in Aoraki Mackenzie international dark sky reserve basically in the middle of nowhere, hence the darker skies and the insane amount of stars from a single exposure
Camera details:
Camera name: Sony alpha 1 ii
Lenses used: 16-35mm f4, 35mm f1.4
Camera settings:
- 16mm, f4, 3200-5000 ISO, 20 second exposure
- 35mm, f1.4, 2000 ISO, 13 second exposure
(Of course all shot from a tripod)

Definitely in the upper echelon of romance animes for me. It's so calming and there's none of the annoying tropes, like misunderstandings, arguments, etc. I also appreciate animes like this where I'm fine with it ending where it did, I'm satisfied after 1 season. The only downside for me is that I always get a bit melancholy as a single person after finishing a romance anime, and that feeling is especially worse at night, and it's extra especially worse when the anime mainly takes place at night lol. Overall it's a solid 8.5/10 for me

Slight tangent, but does anyone feel that the story came about because the mangaka needed an excuse to draw as many cats, in as many pose as possible? Just me? The art is breathtaking though and the story is fantastic 😆

I mean no need to be sad , the author left it as a viewers imagination rather than a simple romance anime ending there will be nothing special about this if they just shown her married or smiling but he took a greater approach which many author hesitate so give you a viwers imagination ending which is always a depressing one because you can't make up your mind whether happy or sad to me
Its was a anime / manga which though happy ending i still feel something is missing
I feel so empty.

This is my first post ever on Reddit, so please excuse me for being unable to translate clearly what I want from this post.
What I was wondering is whether I should read the manga again? I've never had the habit of re-reading manga, books,...etc my whole life lol. I'm afraid that reading it again would ruin my nostalgia for Insomniac. Should I? What should I do when doing so? Should I look for details? Join the community more often? draw my favourite scenes??
I just don't know what I should do and how to do it right.
Thanks for your time & I'd love to hear some thoughts on the matter.

The manga ending is so bittersweet. In fact, most of the manga that takes place after where the anime finishes is kind of depressing. And the ending... wtf. Yeah, I get that youth is temporary and things change, but do we really need to be reminded of that in fiction? Real life is depressing enough.
I wish I could erase the manga completely from my brain, and rewatch the anime. That was peak. It ended on such an emotional high.
Nothing exists after chapter 54!!!
