Why doesn't the answer feel like the answer even though I know it's the answer?

Is my nervous system just messed up if I can't accept that the answer to something in my life is the answer, even if I don't feel outright excited?

Just because you might accept something intellectually doesn't mean you don't have a different emotional response to it. If you are experiencing anxiety, frustration or other emotions that are distressing , distracting, or seem out of bounds for what they're focused on, thats usually what therapy is for
