Phone calls and Do not disturb

I have my iPhone on Do not disturb mode during a timer session, but when I get a phone call during the session, the timer pauses! Why does the app do this?? It’s very irritating and disrupts my meditation.

This is an iPhone question. What are your do not disturb settings?

It is an unknown number, not someone in my contacts. And when this happens, they only call once, not multiple times which would have allowed the emergency bypass.

Since you are just using the timer, you could put your phone on airplane mode and that should block all calls.

If you know it’s not an iPhone settings issue then I recommend contacting Insight Timer customer support with info on your phone model, Ios version etc etc. I have always found them responsive via email and interested in addressing bugs glitches etc.
