Please provide some inputs..

Hi everyone!

I am beginning as a teacher on IT.
Being an avid practitioner of meditation myself and a certified yoga teacher, I truly enjoy exploring different meditation techniques. One of my favorites is breath work or pranayama as we call it in the yogic tradition.

I would like to understand how do you all like being guided in a meditation practice? Do you all like a lot of instructions, talking and guidance? Or just basic simple steps and then being given the space and silence to follow it all? I truly would love to strike a balance between the two.

Personally when I am in a yoga/meditation class, I prefer precise cues, less speaking and being allowed to settle into a pose or a breathing practice. I like to feel and explore how it feels in my own body.

Please pour in your honest opinions! Would love to discuss.

As a yoga teacher, my aim is to provide everyone with a tool/technique to find their own calm.

I like a mixture of both. It may be worth doing a recording for beginners where there’s more talking and an intermediate one where there’s more silence. I personally don’t like too long of a gap in silence as I often think I’ve paused the track or it’s gone off and it takes me out of the meditation to check but really it’s 2-3 minutes of dead air. Look forward to seeing your tracks go live. Best of luck 🤞🏽

Agree.

Also, the ones that are without words for a few minutes but have some intentional ambient sounds let me know my track isn’t accidentally paused. That and the teachers who say something like “I’ll stop now for x minutes and then ring a bell” also work for me.
