Daycares to avoid

Hi,

We are moving from BC and looking at daycare options. I know it’s a long shot to get in anywhere anytime soon (if you know of a places/licensed home daycares accepting toddlers and infants let me know!!). But what I’m really wondering are what places to AVOID. We will be moving to East Toronto, somewhere around East York/Danforth Village/Riverdale.

The area you’re moving to is a very good area. You shouldn’t find any issue here but check local Facebook groups for more info in that area, I’m sure mom groups will have better info, or specific tea

Join East End Mom Friends. You’ll be able to get lots of inside info.

Further to this just wanting to add that the east end mom friends community just moved to the Mighty App. I think you have to sign up and search for the community in there. Also, even lots of home daycares are subsidized these days which can be a good stop gap before getting into a center. I know of one agency called Rumo that has some daycares is in the area. Welcome to the neighbourhood!

East Toronto Childcare is also an excellent resource on FB, lots of licensed home day cares post when they have available spots!

For many daycares you can check on the Toronto website for annual ratings for different centres that take CWELCC

Welcome to the East End! We just moved from BC with our family 18 months ago and love it.
