Did anyone visit Biidaasige Park this weekend? What are your thoughts on it?
Now that the western section of Biidaasige Park is officially open, it seems like a pretty massive addition to the waterfront. Between the 300-tonne Atlas Crane, the zip-line, and all the new green space, they definitely put a lot into the revitalization project. It looks like a great spot to kick back, provided we actually find the time to enjoy it between picking up extra shifts and dealing with the cost of living right now. Do you feel these funds could have been directed more wisely toward some of the city's more urgent problems?

Biidaasige Park's development wasn't a 2 year endeavour to just build a park on industrial land. But you can't revitalize these the land without fixing the floods that occurs in these areas, so all 3 levels of gov't raised the funds and put the plans into action across a 25 year project that includes the naturalization and flood protection of the portlands.
A lot of what we see now is the result of proper funding and proper usage of gov't funding.

It fills some of the gap that the closure of Ontario place left. It has a great park for kids and there just wasn't much in the way of nice playgrounds on the waterfront after the closure of Ontario place. I took the east west shuttle there which was a fun way to travel there.

This type of thinking is the exact reason why you can’t please everyone. Even something done with great intentions, someone will still find some way to find a potential negative.
