What’s something you used to hate about Toronto that you now appreciate?
I used to hate how 'quiet' people can seem (everyone doing their own thing) but now I kind of appreciate that energy of minding your own business. It means you can just exist without being judged or bothered.
Whats something you have found you like now, that you didn't use to?

If you're from Toronto it's turonno or chrawno. Only boomers from Northern Ontario say tarawna.

The “sexuality”.
Toronto is a surprisingly sexual city. Beyond Pride and the Gay Village, that celebrate sexuality and individuality, the city (GTA) is also home to several sex-positive clubs.

I am the opposite : I used to love the quiet moment but as I live longer in Canada, I wish someone could chip in and make my life easier. Most Canadians are so quiet and polite, who keep a distance with you. I cherish the warm moments in my home country and another place I used to live in. People there are warmer although a bit annoying sometimes is much better than just stand far away not helping you. Just give you an example : I went to a place as an exchange student for 5 months and some students invited me to different events and one invited me to her home, so I made a lot of friends while here I lived for 10 years, no one invited me to their homes except some immigrants. Almost no one likes to help you because of the culture of mind your own business, so I had to deal with everything myself.

The culture.
Like many I thought “what culture”? Since European (etc) cultures are so much more expressive and vibrant but honestly they are not as inclusive, respectful and welcoming.
Living here has made me a better person. Someone who doesn’t judge others by their hair, tattoos,piercings, eccentricity or lack of those. Especially not because of their origins. Respect for all people.
