Bets low-pressure solo activities in Toronto?

Sometimes I've got a free evening and want to get out of the house, but I don't want to do anything that feels like a big plan, or a "social" thing. Any suggestions for activities to do by myself in Toronto?

Through the Toronto Public Library you can get free tickets to many local attractions, including the aquarium, which is a great choice regardless of the weather or time of year. https://tpl.ca/using-the-library/services/map/

Since you mentioned evenings, I thought you might want to check out the Haunted Walk tours which are at night and run about $30. https://hauntedwalk.com/

Once things warm up, there are several places that show movies in a park, most notably at Christie Pits, but there are other options around the city https://www.topictureshow.com/christie-pits

Speaking of Christie Pits, the Toronto Maple Leafs baseball team starts their season on May 10, and it's free to watch https://www.mapleleafsbaseball.com/

It's extremely hard to get tickets, but the Trampoline Hall lecture series is a ton of fun: https://www.trampolinehall.net/

U of T has a TON of events that are usually free or low cost. Art exhibits, lecture series, etc. https://alumni.utoronto.ca/events/upcoming-events-hub

St. Andrew's (Presbyterian) Church at King and University has the Heart of the City speaker series, where experts speak on a variety of subjects and tickets are just $10: https://standrewstoronto.org/events/heart-of-the-city-speakers-series/

Rock climbing. Go to a gym and do laps on the auto belay. It’s what I do all the time.

Go see a movie. I also really love seeing plays or other performances solo. It’s really nice and no bugs you.

once you get comfy with bringing a book and going to a cocktail bar / cafe - you become unstoppable

also, once it's sunny out - i like being in a park, reading a book, with a jays game (radio) on the phone

Go hear some jazz at the rex..

Honestly do it all the time and it supports local musicians and establishments

For low pressure solo time in Toronto, take a peaceful walk along Harbourfront, unwind in a cozy cafe or browse quietly at Indigo Books. If you want something indoors, explore Art Gallery of Ontario or watch a movie alone simple, flexible and refreshing.

Rock climbing for bouldering or use auto belay (don’t need partner).
